Entrance Exam (1/2) Friends

4:00 AM day of the entrance exam

Kai was up. Up way before his alarm goes off and is trying to bathe without waking his mom up. He decided to be awake just so he could see the sunrise and take a picture of it. Kai had been wanting to do that for a while now but never had a chance to.

Kai stepped out of the hot shower and went to find the uniforms to wear. One is his school uniform and the other was a blue tracksuit paired with a black foot-length coat for the practical exams. Kai studied at an elite school called Soumei Junior Highschool he knows he's a bit disciplined in terms of attitude and manner but he knows to tone it down a bit. He wore the uniform and placed his tracksuit inside his bag, double-checked his pens and other kinds of stuff before going downstairs to hopefully make something to eat.

Kai prepared a tiny meal of eggs and bacon, toasted bread, and made it into a sandwich. When Kai was cooking he played a song in the background which might have caused his Mom to come down. " Why are you up this early Mei? You have 5 hours before the exams start" Dani pointed at the clock yawning while doing so. " I know Mom but I would like to see the sunrise" he reasoned continuing to assemble his sandwich. " Would you like some tea?" To take his Mom's mind somewhere else he decided to offer something to drink. " No thank you, I'll be going back to bed" she waved it off. " Goodnight!" He replied.

"Lock the doors when you go out and remember," Dani said. That got Kai's attention and stopped what he was doing to look at her. " A hero never wait for things to escalate if the danger is already there" she made her way back to her room and as her door closed Kai continued to make his sandwich.

" Yes"

5:00 AM

Kai is double-checking his things to make sure not to forget anything before he goes out. He takes out his phone to send a message to a friend that will also be taking the entrance exam.

Kai left at 5:10 his friend didn't want to get picked up but it was understandable since it was very early but a companion would be nice. He left feeling nervous, the other reason he wants to leave early was to get his mind off the exam that will happen in a few hours. It was cold so instead of keeping his coat inside his bag Kai chose to wear it.

The first thing he wants to do was to find a fruit stall and buy some apples to give as gifts. Luckily he found the one shop he likes. " Good Morning Auntie! Do you have those apples from yesterday?" Kai greets the old lady that works and runs the place. " Kai you are up early, those are available how many would you like dear?" The lady noticed Kai buying apples every school day so he must like them very much. " Just 3 today" he raised three fingers and took out his wallet to pay for them. " I heard you're taking the Yuuei entrance exam good luck with that Kai" she hands him the apples and Kai pays her back. " Thanks Auntie enjoy your day!" Kai placed the apples inside his bag and waved the lady goodbye.

It took 10 minutes for Kai to find the shop so it was already 5:30 when he got out of the store and the sun will rise at 30 minutes so he made his way slowly to the beach. When he passed by this beach 10 months ago it was filled with trash so he didn't come back for the duration of the summer. Fortunately today it was cleaner than before. 

" Oh, someone's already here?" Kai noticed someone cleaning the beach not a beach worker but a green-haired teenager. Carrying the little garbage on the beach to the side. Kai used MOONGEIST to skip the stairs down but also immediately landed on the sand to quickly run to the boy using OMINOUS AIR. " Hey!" Kai greeted the green-haired boy with a wave but he guessed he shouldn't have done that.

The boy, Izuku Midoriya released his hold to the heavy garbage when a voice sounded from behind him. He prepared himself to get hurt but he felt a touch on his back and his body felt like air the garbage landed on the ground and he removed his feet from where it was originally. Midoriya looked at the person who grabbed him it was a gray-haired boy that looks the same age as him. " That was close, I'm sorry for that" the boy apologized and removed his hold of him.

Kai bowed to the boy that he almost hurt while scratching his head. " U-uh N-no that was okay! No one got hurt at least" the boy waves his hand frantically seemingly shaken by what happened. Kai straighten himself and prepared to introduce himself to the green-haired boy. " Let's start properly shall we? I'm Kai Youmei" Kai placed his hand in front of him waiting for the boy to take his hand. " I-I'm Midoriya Izuku nice to meet you Kai" Midoriya took his hand and shook it.

" Midoriya-san why are you cleaning the beach by yourself?" Kai asked. He and Midoriya immediately got comfortable with each other Midoriya were still stuttering but he was talking with no problem. " I'm training for Yuuei actually, I'm planning to take the hero course" the response from Midoriya was filled with excitement and Kai could feel it too. " I'm taking the entrance exam too! Good luck to us!" Kai pumped his fist up. He was nervous about the exam but he found someone to get his mind off of it. " Oh I want to ask, the thing you did to help me was that your Quirk?" Midoriya took his chance to add someone to his notebook that might be his future classmate or rival.

" Oh that, yes that was my quirk," Kai noticed that Midoriya instantly deflated he(Midoriya) probably wished to know more about it. " My Quirk is called Poltergeist I can use ghost and ghost-like properties to my body" Kai explained it more broadly and that satisfied Midoriya. " That's such a strong Quirk! You'll pass the exam with that" Midoriya exclaimed while writing on a notebook. " And that is?" Kai floated behind Midoriya and saw the page he(Midoriya) was writing and it was about him(Kai). " It's where I write about people Quirk" Kai was impressed there were already many pro heroes in his notebook with few to many useful information about them. " That's pretty cool Midoriya, hope you don't snitch on anyone when I fight" he teased while patting Midoriya on the back. " Uwah it's almost sunrise" Kai screeched while grabbing his phone. " I'll leave now Midoriya see you on the exam!" He waved using OMINOUS AIR to quickly get closer for a better position to take a photo.

5:50 AM 

Kai had spent some good time talking to Midoriya but now he must wait a few more minutes until he could take a photo of the sunrise.

" 5 minutes left!" 

After 5 minutes the sun was finally rising. Kai was taking his photos when he thought he heard someone screaming. He ignores it thinking it was just someone exercising somewhere. A notification for his messages stopped Kai from taking photos.

Kai, I'm awake and preparing right now, where did you go to this morning?

Oh, Fumikage Good Morning! I went to the beach to get some photos of the sunrise. I told you about failing to get the photos ten months ago because of the garbage here at the beach.

Yes, I met this boy Midoriya who was cleaning the beach he's also taking the exam.

Kai got distracted for 30 minutes by Fumikage messaging him. He thinks he's(Fumikage) also nervous for the exam so he just continued talking with him until Fumikage wanted to finish preparing. Kai sent some photos of the sunrise he captured before preparing to find an ice cream shop to eat.
