Running - BrokenNostalgia - Prologue
"Let's just go Finn, let's run. Let's run away, let's just go!" I said, clutching his wrists in excitement. His green eyes shone but looked doubtful to say the least.
"Lori, think about this. Where are we going to go? We're not even 16 yet, we can't..." He replied, frowning and sliding his hands away from my clutch and interlacing our fingers.
I sighed, burrowing my head into his shoulder and my arm's around his neck, having to stand on my tip-toes. "It just gets too much sometimes, you know?" I heard him let out a sigh of his own, and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I know baby, I know." He said, in his ever so comforting voice. Just having him close to me was comforting enough, his embrace, his warmth, his everything.
I pulled away, my hand's now resting on the back of his neck, and his on my waist. I leaned up and kissed him again, I couldn't help smile as I felt his smile against my lips.
"I really have to go, it's almost Eleven..." I said, reluctantly.
"We're not getting better at saying goodbye at all, are we?" He said, grinning.
I shook my head. "I don't think it's a bad thing, though, right?"
"Of course it isn't!" He kissed my forehead, I grinned, partly at how adorable it was and partly at how he had to lean down to my short height. "No over-thinking tonight, okay?" He said, suddenly a very serious look on his face, he ran his hand through his brown hair.
"No worrying, okay?" I replied, plastering a serious face on.
"No giving me a reason to." He said, looking down at my arms.
"No promises." I whispered, barely loud enough for my self to hear. He pulled me in and tightened his arms around me, and I stood there, comforted by his embrace. I could hear his heart beating, my head rest on his chest.
"Oh, and eat too. Please." He said, pulling away and putting his finger under my chin, lifting my head up gently so our eyes were locked. "For me."
And with those words I nodded, refusing to let my mouth speak
This is how goodbye usually went for me and Finn, we'd hug, kiss, say goodbye, kiss again, hug, I'd ask him to do something ridiculous like run away with me, we'd say goodbye, kiss again, lather, rinse, repeat. But I liked it. I liked our routine we'd unintentionally devised.
"You have to go." He frowned.
"I know," I scrunched up my nose in disgust.
He smiled at me again, wider this time. I smiled back, uncontrollably. "Dimples." He said, like he usually did when I smiled at him.
"You have dimples too!" I said, sucking in my cheeks.
"Mine aren't cute." He said, raising an eyebrow playfully.
"I beg to differ, idiot."
"Shut up and kiss me you fool." He said, smiling again.
I put my finger to his lips. "I have to go." I grinned wider, and quickly kissed him on the cheek before turning away.
In that moment, he gently pulled me back by my hips and turned me around, so we were facing. Our eyes fixed on eachothers. "I love you."
"I love you too, Finn."
