Once the class started, I pulled out a piece of paper and started to write a note. We were not allowed to use phones inside our classes and moreover, I didn't have his number so I decided to do this the classic way.
'Hey Tyler, I'll be waiting for you in our cafeteria after school. Don't be late.' - Chloe
It didn't sound weird or desperate, right?
I thought to myself and kept staring at the piece of paper for a really long time, wondering if this was a dumb idea
All of a sudden, Mandy snatched it away from my hand."Hey!" I whisper yelled and noticed her folding it.
"For the love of God, you were taking an eternity to pass a simple note."
"Psst!" She tried to call Dan who was sitting in front of us and when he turned, she quickly shoved the note in his hand.
"Pass it to Tyler,"
"Is there a problem Ms. Adams and Ms.Cooper?"
We both heard our teacher's voice and looked up to find him staring down at us through his round spectacles. He was a middle-aged man, short with a potted belly and looked scary as hell.
Probably the only teacher at school I feared.
"No-Nothing, Mr.Glassman." I stuttered, clearing my throat and he didn't seem to buy it.
"Both of you come and sit in the front row," He replied sternly and I tried so hard not to roll my eyes as I stood up and walked towards the front.
"Great! Now I have to pretend to listen to him." I heard Mandy whine beside me. I let out a huge sigh and started to take notes.
Once the class got over, we both waited for Dan outside the class and Cara joined us after a few minutes.
"I'm already hating senior year. It's the first day and I can't understand even a word of what these people teach," she was rambling to Mandy while I was anxiously waiting for Dan.
"Hey Dan," I yelled as I noticed him walking out of the class in the other direction.
"Sup, girls." He gave Mandy a wink but she hardly noticed him and continued to speak with Cara.
"Did you give it to him?"
"The note?"
"Yeah, what else?" I rolled my eyes at his dumbness and he gave me a slight shrug.
"I hope it reached him. I gave it to the person in front of me to pass it down."
That didn't help.
"Okay, thanks." I pouted and turned towards my friends.
"I should have just asked him out in the normal way instead of passing these stupid notes." I groaned and started walking towards my next class while they followed me right behind.
"It's not like he is going to say no to you, Chloe. Just Relax." Cara opened her mouth and I turned to my side to find her scrolling through her phone.
"I don't want him to think I'm a nerd or something. I mean, who sends notes these days?"
"I think it's romantic," Mandy stated with a huge grin and I shook my head with a small smile.
"Can't believe I'm simping over a guy. He better be worth it." I muttered as we walked inside our next class.
The rest of the day seemed to drag and I couldn't wait for my last period to get over. I was nervous to meet Tyler even though, I knew he would agree to go out with me. Once the last bell for the day rang, I rushed outside the class and texted my friends to meet me in the girl's restroom.
