Choi Namra swore to god that if she found another group of people bitching about how she was unfriendly, she would just leave this school.
And she did find another group of people bitching about it.
But she didn't do anything about it.
Because she knew that the people bitching about right now were simply jobless and have nothing to do but waste their time. They will be bitching about each other too when they go somewhere else and find another group. It was simply in their nature.
She did wish she had the ability to interact with others just like they did, in fact she envied them. She also wished that she didn't come off as rude and mysterious just because she didn't talk to people just like they did, but it just became a dream that will never come true at this point. And her having RBF didn't help her at all.
She didn't understand why everyone who knew her name hated her. She didn't even bother them. She used to mind her own business without talking to others and showing any other form of interaction at all and they did the same. It's not like they approached her in the first place. Soon, she grew tired of hearing all these comments.
So she simply started to pretend that they didn't exist at all. She wore ear buds all the time with music playing with a high volume all the time. Though she knew they were bad for her ears, the people around her left her with no choice at all. Every time she heard people say something about her, numerous questions would start flooding in her head. Why do you guys hate me? How am I rude? I didn't even do anything to you. I am just with myself. I don't bother you at all. Why? You don't even know me or how I am at all.
Namra's day in life was simple. She wakes up- she gets fresh- she goes to school- she studies and avoids interactions- she comes back home- she studies again- she sleeps-repeat. She immersed her self in books and avoided humans. Though there was one thing that made her happy and smiley.
Cats.
These animals brought the joy she needed in her life. They were small, fluffy and cute. And they seemed to like her too. So it was only natural that they became friends. She even built up courage to ask her mom to let her adopt a cat (only to be rejected later on) for the first time. Besides smoking secretly, petting cats gave her a sense of relief.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-Namra's day was nearly just like every other day today. She woke up again. She went to school again. She avoided everyone again. she went to the rooftop again. She was on her way back home again.
Before reaching home Namra brought some stationery she needed. The thing was, the stationery was crowded and she was in the midst of crowd. Her anxiety level went up and she started stressing out again. To keep herself calm, Namra put her ear buds in that played music on a very high level. She was able to ignore voices, but the crowds presence was still there. That didn't help her at all.
I need a smoke. Everything will be fine. Calm down Namra. She walked away while calming her mind down. On her way back, she found a dark alleyway. she needed a smoke right now but she trusted her luck to let her meet some cats there. That way, she wouldn't have to smoke. But to her disappointment, she didn't find any cats there.
Why can't luck just favor me this once? Now I need to smoke again. Yaay. Let's destroy our lungs. Hurray. Namra checked the whole alleyway just in case. She sat down and lit the tip of her cigarette. Then she started smoking.
Now this is where she faced a new trouble.
While she was peacefully smoking, she heard a faint noise beside her. She took her ear buds out and looked around her. And yes, there was someone on her left side leaning against the wall.
"What the fuck are you staring at. I said pass me the lighter." a girl who wore the same uniform as her growled. Namra stared at her a couple of more seconds in hopes of recognizing her. Unfortunately, she didn't.
" Are u fucking deaf or what? Listen if you wanna fight, just fucking say so and we'll do it some other day. For now just pass me fucking the lighter." Namra just started at her in disbelief. Did this girl not recognize her? or was she just pretending not to? She sure wasn't from her class because any student from that hell would've threatened to expose her.
"Do I know you?" Namra questioned her out loud. The girl just let out a frustrated sigh and replied, "Of course you don't. Looking at you, you must be a fucking freshman or a second year. While I am a fucking senior with shit ton of stress"
She had short black hair and a grumpy look on her face. She looked like she wouldn't hesitate to beat the shit out of you if your existence annoyed her. From her tone of voice, it seemed that everyone's existence irritated her.
"Listen, I just asked you for a fucking lighter. And that too because you seem to be from the same fucking hell school as I am. Just pass me the fucking lighter."
Without inquiring her any further, she just passed her the lighter she had and minded her own business. The girl lit the cigarette and smoked. Both of them silently stayed there before Namra got up and went her own way. On her way back she hoped that the girl didn't recognize her and she wouldn't meet her inside the school premises.
Oh boy, little did she know that the weird girl would be someone she could rely on later.
