That's how it used to be. This town was where everyone would want to live. Walking down the streets alone, without a worry about dangerous situations, until one day. Everything flipped after a disappearance.

The disappearance of Jeon Jungkook, the 16 year old boy that everyone loved. Everyone would see him playing with the little kids at the park and running with them. He respected everyone and showed his care to everyone, not one person disliked him.

"He probably ran away, it's not that important." The front desk woman from the sheriff's office said to her, making her blood boil in anger because she just kept repeating the same thing over and over.

"It is very important. My brother did not run away, he wouldn't. He's in danger, and I get that you don't believe that anyone in this town would do anything but you have to check." She hits the desk while the lady types away on the computer, her nails hitting the keys.

"Jeon Y/n. Please, sit down and calm down. When you're calm, we can call a sheriff to come talk to you."

"Couldn't have done from the beginning?" She roll her eyes, the tears threatening to fall. "I was calm in the beginning so don't tell me to calm down and I want the sheriff now." She says because she came before and they made her wait until closing time to tell her that she had to come another day.

"Please, sit and wait."

"I. Want. The. Sheriff. Now!" She exclaims, hitting the desk harder with each word, upset. This is very hard for her. She has always loved having a younger brother and she wouldn't change it for the world. She is not going to let anyone take away the one person that she could trust with her entire life.

"Ok, I'll call one now." She says, dialing a number on the phone, bringing it to her ear as she grabs the paper, Y/n and her family made.

"Hello.... Yes. Mr. Kim, we have a 20 year old woman here, filing a missing person's report and she wants to speak with a sheriff...... Alright .... Okay ... Thank you." She puts the phone down, handing Y/n the paper of her brother, smacking her gum. "A sheriff will be out here shortly. Please take a seat while you wait, Ms. Jeon."

"Thank you." She smiles and sits down, grabbing her phone, texting her mother about what happened.

The sheriff that was called, walks out with a face mask. He goes to the front desk lady, asking her some questions. The lady just looks at him, and smiles shyly, pointing at the girl in the blue jeans, loose white button up, and beige timberlands. He nods his head and walks towards her.

"Hello." As soon as she looks up, she stands up, slightly bowing. "Jeon Y/n?" He questions and she nods, quickly.

"Yes, I'm Jeon Y/n. Umm, I'm here to file a missing person's report." She shows him the paper.

"So I've been told." He grabs the paper and speaks. "Come with me, let's speak about this in my office." She nods and follows behind him, rolling her eyes at the lady from the front desk.

Sitting in the sheriff's small and tight office, infront of his desk, being interrogated for her brother's case.

Y/N POV

"So, Jeon Jungkook, 16 year old, born September 1st. Male." Sheriff Kim asks me. I nod my head, as he went over the paper that he wrote on after asking me these questions. "Okay, did you see him the the day others said he was last seen?" I shake my head.

"We had plans to eat dinner, together. He never made it to dinner and I got a phone call from my parents asking me if I was having dinner with him. I said that I was still waiting and they told me how he'd been gone for 5 hours and never came home."

"Okay." He writes down for a minute before asking me another question. "Are you and your brother, close?"

"Yes. He's like a best friend to me." My voice lowers, close to a whisper.

"Have you ever thought of hurting him?"

"No! Are you accusing me of hurting my brother?! I would never." I stand up, offended.

"No. These are just questions I need to ask. Although, I don't believe you would do it, I still need to ask." I sit down, as we continue the questions.

After waiting for almost 20 minutes in this office, a different sheriff walks in.

"Okay, Ms. Jeon Y/n. My name is Kim Taehyung and I will be investigating the case of the missing person named Jeon Jungkook." I stand up and shake his hand, admiring at his handsome face.

"And I can promise you, that one way or another, we will find him. We will find your brother. We will find Jeon Jungkook."

• A Week Later •

Waking up to knocks on her door, Y/n gets up walking to the door. She looks in the mirror on the wall, next to the door, groaning at the way she looks. Messy hair, hoodie and shorts, and swollen eyes due to crying herself to sleep. She shakes her head, trying to get rid of the thoughts about her brother that she dreamt about. She opens the door, slowly, looking out to see a sheriff.

"Oh, Sheriff!" She opens the door, widely.

"Good morning. I told you I'd come as soon as I get any news about your brother." She nods, quickly and motions him to come inside.

Since the town is so small and it never has had crimes, there are not a lot of sheriffs. Therfore, she has offered to help with anything they need, at any time.

Her father used to be the boss of a secret agency and she would get trained for when she got older. The secret agency was called Big Hit and Y/n was going to run the agency when she got older but her mother didn't accept it because she wants Y/n to be a model like she was when she was younger. Y/n argued with her mother until she just gave up and became a part time model, doing school online.

If her bringing back her dream is what it takes to find her brother, she will.

"Would it be okay if I went to brush my teeth and shower. It won't be long, I just feel disgusting." She asks after he sits down with the files in his hand.

"Yeah, it would be fine. I'll just wait, don't take too long." He smiles his signature boxy smile, making her smile. She smiles and nods, mumbling an apology, as she makes her way to her room.

'Why is he making me smile?'
