YANG HEE-SU AND Yang Dae-su were not the closest of siblings. They lived under the same roof and shared the same four walls but not once had they ever had a civil conversation. Perhaps it was how different yet entirely similar they are. The both carrying such goofy qualities, the two of clashing and colliding. And for that reason, not many know of the blood they share.Yang Hee-su will forever and always be proud of herself. Of her accomplishments. Of her art. Of her friends. Of her good energy. Of her everything. Including her sexuality. Her mother had taught her to be so proud of all she worked for, for all she was. That majorly included how she showed herself to the world. Her clothes were bright, filled with stripes and tiny little hearts or any design she deemed fit. While she often had to re-dye her hair to the plain color the school wanted, she always did what she wanted.
So when she and the class president randomly got closer, everyone questioned it but she stayed true to herself. Not once did she fall into the rumors flying around. She simply enjoyed the time she spent with the quiet girl who spoke poetically. It wasn't until two months later that they shared their first kiss and Hee-su was through the roof. She loved everything about Choi Nam-ra and she wanted to yell it at the top of her lungs.
But Nam-ra couldn't stay true to herself. Not when her mother knew of her feelings towards a girl. A rowdy girl whose hair sat crazily on her head and who's grades were not close to perfect. She wasn't meant to be with her perfect daughter, not as a woman, or any person. Yang Hee-su wasn't perfect and for that, the girls would pay the price.
It was a week later when Nam-ra broke up with Hee-su. It didn't shock the girl all too much — she knew it was coming when her girlfriend began to pull away and speak to her less. But it didn't hurt any less. Weeks upon weeks were spent wallowing in sadness and self-pity.
That was the first time the siblings spoke to one another without clashing. Dae-su listened to his sister, listened as she explained how much she loved the girl, how much she felt Nam-ra cared for her too, of how heartbroken she felt. Her heartbreak may have led her to share a better relationship with her brother, but from that day on, she swore she'd never fall in love again.
