This doesn't quite capture everything I see and feel, but I guess it's close enough. Beau and Amy, this poem is about you two, how you have watched me grow from that little girl I was the day you met me, how close we have become. Back then, I'd never have taken you're hand, never have held you in my arms, thank you both, for everything, and thank you Leiws, and Cerys, and Alisdair, and Leland, and even Aiden, even you, you took me those final steps, now I am who I am, I am free, because of you. So thank you all, thank you teachers, thank you pupils, you all freed me, I am who I am because of you. All of you.
Today I saw a photo
Today I looked at the camera
Today I found a photo
Today I saw a photo
Today I saw a girl
Out of place, doesn't feel safe
Today I looked at this girl
Saw her fear, saw a trapped spirit
Today I saw a boy
Unsure eyes, same personality
Today I looked at him
He hasn't changed
Today I saw a girl
So sure, so fine
Today I looked at her
Almost didn't recognise
Today I saw my memories
Fear of what comes next
Today I looked at myself
See who I've become
Today I saw more photos
More days, more smiles
Today I looked at who I was
And compared it to who I am
Same hair, different lengths
Same eyes, different stories
Same face, different expressions
Same leggings, different shoes
Same school, different girl
Same people, now close friends
Once was trapped, now is more than free
Today I realised
That over time
Today I now see
I'm the same girl as in that photo
Today I saw a photo
A photo of me
