Liana rushes into the Daily Planet because she found out Lana was shot. As Liana goes to her a police officer stops her and Chloe grabs Liana's arm. Liana worriedly says, "Is she okay?" Chloe says, "She's hurt pretty badly. Come on, Liana." As Chloe grabs Liana's arm, Liana removes her arm from Chloe's and goes to speak with an officer. Liana puts on her charm and flirts with the officer. Liana says, "Now, I know someone as alert and amazing at his job as you must be, you must have some idea what happened here." The officer says, "Nice try, Miss Lane. It's not gonna work." Liana smiles and says, "Well, a girl's got to try, right?" The officer gets called over and he says, "Excuse me." Liana sighs and looks on the ground to find a cigarette case and is wondering why Lana would have it. Lana drops her purse on purpose and picks up with the stuff and grabs the cigarette case and looks at the officer and says, "Oh, man, I am such a klutz. I'm so sorry." Liana walks back to Chloe. Chloe says, "Where did you go?" Liana says, "I tried talking to the officer, but he won't tell me anything." Chloe says, "So, the police think it was a mugging." Liana says, "A mugging?" Jimmy walks in and says, "Inside the building?" Chloe says, "Now, normally, I'd be the first person to cry "Foul play". But she was downtown, middle of the night fancy dress, stolen purse. I mean, he probably jumped her before she knew what was happening." Jimmy says, "Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that she was wining and dining with daddy war bucks instead of Lex?" Liana says, "Wait a second whoever attacked her is still out there." Chloe says, "Jimmy and I saw him flee, and he did get away. But the police will run prints on the gun." Jimmy says, "Yeah, which the mugger thoughtfully left behind. What was Lana doing here in the middle of the night, anyways?" Liana sighs and says, "I should have been watching her. Ever since she married Lex, I've been so angry--" Chloe cuts Liana off and says, "Liana, tell me you are not making this your fault." Liana says, "I can't help thinking that it is. I got to find out who did this." Chloe says, "Well, since the police aren't saying much, you don't have a lot to go off of. But maybe you'll have better luck." Meanwhile, in Jimmy's dream he gets a call, and a woman says, "I hear you're the best. I want to report a murder." Jimmy says, "Whose?" The woman says, "Mine." Jimmy goes to meet the woman and it's Lana. Lana says, "I hope I didn't keep you waiting, Mr. Olsen." Jimmy says, "Well, how do you like that? The untouchable Lana Luthor." Lana says, "Seems a lot of people got a lot of ideas about me." Jimmy says, "Listen, I don't know if this is such a good idea. Your old man's got to own half of Metropolis not mention a certain building at 1000 Broadway. Big globe on top. This talking could lose me my job." Lana says, "Better your job than my life. My husband's trying to kill me." Jimmy says, "Now, why would you believe a thing like that?" Lana walks closer to Jimmy and says, "The other day, I was crossing 6th Street when, out of nowhere this car veered right toward me and it sped away. It was no accident, Jimmy. You don't mind if I call you "Jimmy," do you?" Jimmy says, "Well, actually, it's James." Lana says, "You're so confident and so brave, and I'm so afraid. I wonder if you could spare a bit of your strength for me. Please?" Jimmy says, "I always knew something didn't sit right with Luthor. It's a shame, a girl like you had to get caught up in this rotten business. You have any proof?" Lana smiles and says, "I knew I could count on you." Lana says, "My husband's been sneaking out at night. I found this in his pocket." Lana gives Jimmy a case and he opens the case to find a pack of matches with the word "Talon" on it, along with some money. As Jimmy gives it back to Lana, she stops his hand and says, "Consider it a thank-you, for your help."
