A cat races out of the camp full of the cats they care for, moving like the monsters that raced along each thunderpath. Orange paws guided them up the mountain and into the most sacred place of the clans, a dark cave that led up to the gateway between them and Starclan. The moon was oddly full before schedule... Or maybe he had never left camp. Stone made his pads ache as he entered deeper and deeper into the cave. Though it no longer felt safe, familiar. Only dark and empty... Like jumping into an endless void of black. There should be light ahead, something that spills power out like a waterfall. But there is no light, no brightness. The world seems to slow as Jadedstar reaches the opening. The light that always makes him wince. But instead, there is only a cave, at a closer look, the moonstone still stands. Moonlight comes in, but it isn't the same. The moonstone does not shine, it only sits there, like staring through the clearest pond in all of Riverclan... A shadow floats over the moon. Masking the cave in complete darkness.

A calico sat in the clearing. Listening eagerly to their surroundings as they sat in the empty camp. The cat tilted their head thoughtfully, then raised their gaze to the sky. Looking to their ancestors for approval... Violetcloud's gray eyes searched the sky. Abyssal black colored the night sky, dotted with the light of the stars. Deep lapis blue gives way to warmer colors in the distance, the stars faded from view as the sun began its last steps over the horizon, the moon almost vanished in the distance, hard to see by this point. A single cloud floated in the fading sky. Before Violetcloud rose her head to the sound of rustling bushes. Before a single paw stuck out from the entrance. Orange fur... The scent of Jadedstar. Fear scent. Violetcloud moved quickly as the cat emerged. The fur rose on his back as if he was about to explode. "Jadedstar? Jadedstar... What is the matter?" The leader seemed to realize his informal state. He takes a deep breath, and the tom quickly licks his fur down a bit, before looking at Violetcloud. "Violetcloud, get Woodedmoons. I need to speak to him now..." Violetcloud paused. Blinking in surprise for a moment. "What do I tell him? Anything? Just that you need him?" Jadedstar replies after another painful moment of waiting. "Just send him over to my den," Strange... What happened? Violetcloud thought. She quieted any of her misbehavior and jokes, she'd felt it while she was guarding for the night, a seriousness as if the whole world was holding its breath. She felt so tense. It was almost choking. "Are you alright? Violetcloud–" Jadedstar seems to turn paler. "Sorry. Something feels so off, way more than ever before. Jadedstar, did something happen to StarClan?"
