Prologue: Love at First Bite

(Valentine POV)

The bright glow of Ever After High shined through the portal, illuminating the dark catacombs below Monster High. I could see it through the portal between the land of the two schools.

I had just made it into the dark and dreary cove, it was the nearest portal to EAH but was located in the catacomb's underneath Monster High. These portals could be anywhere but this one would be the most convenient. But then again, this situation wasn't exactly convenient either.

And lucky for him he had to sneak back through the halls of Monster High one last time. He saw his dear Draculaura with that dog and grimaced. He had far been done with this place and continued on.

He had tried getting into other schools trying to find a place where the monsters wouldn't know him. I had tried Vampire Academy and any other school really. But alas I was not wanted anywhere.

Their loss.

I am going somewhere better anyway, somewhere I will have a brand-new start of hearts to feed off of. None that are monsters, but other magical beings.

He had gotten intel of this school from his best friend Wisp, who had once known someone named "Master Grimm'' in some other world. She helped with the plan to switch worlds to gain off other life energy for his collection.

He was her first finder once she became a Gini and they had become best friends.

Though, it was a shame I wasn't able to get the heart of my dear Draculaura. But last time I made a mistake.

She was already in love with someone else which is what caused it to take longer to win over her heart. And in that long time, my plan showed through, and their love was too true. Which led me to lose in the end, so I wasn't able to fill my collection or reputation. unfortunately

But this time would be different.

I'll win my next target over just in time to break it. Then I'll add it to my collection of broken hearts to feel more ......just more.

Of course, Mom would be worried about me, but that woman was crazy and overprotective, so he was happy to get away from her. She would be glad he's trying to become better when in reality he wasn't.

These portals seemed to be anywhere, and this place was closed off and super-secret, but he had his ways and with a map that Wisp had given him he ventured further into the damp dark caverns of the catacombs.

He had finally made it to the locked off area and using the key that Wisp had also given to him, he didn't ask how she got this stuff but that wasn't important. He unlocked the chain and threw open the doors to an empty cavern, which beholden the portal he was at now.

I took a step through the portal expecting to feel something, but nothing came. So, I continued, keeping my facade on.

I couldn't let anyone here know my true colors.

Quite literally, as he looked in the reflection it seemed his appearance became more human-ish like which wasn't as handsome as his pink skin, but it still had a pale pinkish glow at least.

"I bet he will get caught again" one of the trio of clouds snickered behind him in their deep smooth voices.

I still don't know their names, but they are willing to help me fill my collection to strengthen my powers. I am an emotion after all, a vampire that feeds off the love of others. And to regain my powers from the stench pool that weakened them, I needed to do just that.

"Quiet won't cha, I will if you keep talkin" Valentine piped back forgetting his accent for a second.

"Val, look at the place. You'll have plenty of opportunities to make up for it."

I turned around to finally get a look at the beauty of this enchanting place. All the light charming, elegant colors compared to the bold ones at all the monster schools sure was a change. The sky was also too bright compared to the gloomy sky in the monster realm.

He missed the gloominess of home, but this would suffice.

Then there were all the students, children of fairy tales with their rainbow-colored hair which wasn't so different from Monster High.
"What a great collection of hearts to add to my collection" I muttered while admiring the princesses and princes.(yes I'm bi)

Apparently two people were supposed to come and show me a tour, from the email he got when he enrolled here. But no one was around just yet.

"Guess I'll just wait" but what I saw stopped me in my tracks. A beautiful pink haired girl sitting alone at a fountain with beautiful angel wings, hypnotizing me from afar. She was peering down at her clipboard, seeming to be concentrating on something.

"Well, hello, darlin".

This story obviously isn't really what happens in cannon since in the comics and journal Valentine gets reformed very differently. This is kind of if it happened differently.

I love Cupid x Valentine and didn't expect to love it as much as I do, I used to like Dexter and Cupid, but Cupid deserves better since he didn't like her to begin with. I also partially ship Blonde x Cupid and Valentine x Spelldon, but I like this just a bit more. Also, I head canon Valentine as Bi and Cupid as Pan.
Enjoy these two love monsters and well go into their characters a bit more, especially Cupid since she has so much there that wasn't talked about.
