It was 1989 freshman year in Oxford Ateneo University Campus a prestigious school at the height of its game, having their students with at least 125 IQ.
Leni, a pretty and intelligent young woman got a scholarship from the University due to sheer perseverance in studying.
As the bell rang, all the student outside the buildings of their assigned learning institute would hastily rush inside, not wanting to be late for their first day.
But not for a certain person.
An 86' Ford Mustang would accelerate on the road in Campus making a loud roaring sound from its exhaust.
Those who are still outside would get flabbergasted from it's sheer sound.
One bystander even comments, "Sino kaya yung g*go na yon? Masyadong nagpapasikat sa unang araw ng pasok."
At last, the Car would park on a teacher's parking space.
A long haired, tall figure would exit the car.
Everyone was astonished when they saw who it was.
"Hindi ba siya yung anak ng *****?" a bystander would ask to another.
"Oo, pero pagkakaalam ko sa United Kingdom siya pinatira." They'd reply.
He would glance at the people who he saw were visibly gossiping.
They'd notice his glancing and eventually minded their own business.
He would start walking towards the learning institute.
But then a distressed Leni with some books on her hands would bump into him.
"Pasensya na, tumunog na kasi yung bell kaya nagmamadali ako hindi na kita nakita."
She'd kneel down picking up the books.
He would also kneel down grabbing the last book on the ground, giving it to her.
She'd look at the book then to him.
"Salamat." She'd say with a blushing face.
He'd notice her flustered face then started to grin.
"Mag ingat ka na lang sa susunod."
He'd get back up extending his hands to a still kneeling Leni
"Ano, dyan ka lang?" He'd jokingly say.
She'd smile as she grabs his hand.
"Ako pala si Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos...Jr.", He'd introduce himself.
Her eyes would widen as she hears his name.
"Wag ka magalala, I'm not as bad as I look.", He'd jokingly say to evade the discomfort.
"Pwede ko ba malaman pangalan mo", He'd ask.
She'd hesitantly say her name, "Maria..Leonor Santo Tomas..Gerona..pero pwede mo ko tawaging Leni.."
She'd avoid eye contact with him
"Bong Bong..", He'd reply
She'd get confused to what he said.
"B-Bong Bong?" She'd say.
"Pwede mo ko tawaging Bong Bong" Ferdinand would say with a smile.
Unsure of what to do she'd also smile, "o-o siya, Ikinagagalak kitang makilala..Bong Bong."
"Ikaw din, Leni.", Bong Bong would reply.
They'd both part their ways as Bong Bong goes inside the Institute while Leni would hurriedly walk to hers.
