Amelia gazed out of the car window watched hundreds of cherry blossom pedals fall onto the sidewalks.
There weren't nearly as many cherry blossom trees at home. She hated it.
The car came to a sudden halt, causing her to turn her head and look at the wretched building they had pulled up to.
School.
As she stepped out of the vehicle and swung her overweighted backpack over her shoulder.
Left and right, she felt rocks hit her face, her arms, her legs, just everywhere. Other kids were calling her Japanese names she couldn't understand. Herds of girls stood under the trees and whispered to each other, not even caring if she saw from the corner of her eyes.
She finally managed to climb up the cement stairs and push past the double doors. With a loud stomp in her step, she held her head high and her shoulders broad.

--

As all the students flooded out the classroom door, Amelia tried her best to stay still with all of the names spat into her ear. When the teacher reached the doorway, completely ignoring her, he greeted another student who was walking in. Almost immediately, her face lit up when she realized who it was.

Sakura Honda sat down at the desk next to Amelia's. As she opened her schoolbag and reached for her books, she could see from the corner of her eye that she was staring at her. Once she glanced back, she jumped and said something like "sorry," and began opening her schoolbag as well.
For the next two hours, the two just studied and studied. Whenever Amelia didn't understand a piece of Japanese text, which happened often, she would always turn and ask. Japanese was never an easy language for her. Which did make moving to Japan so much better. Wait, no it didn't.
When the clock struck Four o'clock, the two somberly stood up and started re packing their bags.
In unison, the two pushed open the double doors and stepped outside. The spring wind brushed past their faces and through their short hair. They walked down the paved path with their fingers tangled together. Cars speeded passed them in a blink of an eye as they walked down the sidewalk.
Sakura's face lit up as soon as she saw a black cat about three meters in front of them, licking his paws. Upon eye contact with the cat, it dashed off for the crosswalk. She glanced at the bright green light that gave her permission to go, and he did.
Amelia watched how happy she was, unaware of the light that now glare a shade of blood bright red.

Crashing in and breaking her to bits, the truck heard a scream a little bit to late. Blood dripping everywhere and breathing a gulp of air she just couldn't take it. The cat gazed into her eyes, unblinking.
"Bet you couldn't expect this," the cat said.
Amelia fell back, and just then everything went black.

"Wake up, Amelia," the teacher looked down on her with a mad glare, as all the other kids laughed.
"Sorry, teacher! Please excuse me!" She quickly responded, trying her hardest to make it sound like her japanese- speaking skills were fit.

It was a dream, wasn't it?

Amelia wiped the tears that had formed from her eyes and began copying the notes from the board.

As all the students flooded out the classroom door, Amelia tried her best to stay still with all of the names spat into her ear. When the teacher reached the doorway, completely ignoring her, he greeted another student who was walking in. Almost immediately, her face lit up when she realized who it was.

This was all too familiar. Amelia jumped up from her seat and gave Sakura Honda the tightest hug she could deliver.
"I-I'm glad to see you too," she responded with a red face.
"Ah! I'm sorry! I just,"
You're such a klutz she thought to herself.
"I just had a terrible dream during class." the atmosphere changed almost immediately.
"I'm sorry, do you want to talk about it?" Sakura's kind voice brought a sparkle into Amelia's eyes.
"We were walking home and- and... something terrible happened,"
"I see... well I'll make sure nothing bad like that will ever happen! I'll work hard!" Sakura grabbed Amelia's hands and stared into her eyes. Amelia wiped away her tears and whispered, "Thanks"

--

Amelia skipped the last two steps that led down to the sidewalk. Sakura followed, assuring her feet delicately landed on each step.
When the two reached the road, Amelia offered to take a right instead of left.
"Why are we going this way? Isn't it a longer route?" Sakura questioned.
"I just want to enjoy the walk home with you a little bit longer," she replied with a smile and held out her hand. Sakura took it and smiled back.

With their fingers tied together, the two walked past all the brightly colored signs and glimmering buildings. Admiring all the sights and billboards, Amelia tried her best to keep Sakura somewhere in her field of vision.
Now back on track towards their way home, the two skipped across a crosswalk and landed back on a sidewalk. On that corner was a building that was under construction.
Just then, Sakura escaped Amelia's grip while she was distracted by the sight.
Onlookers began screaming and pointed at the sky.

Stabbing holes and splitting her in two, the beams made a seam as they fell, torn from the sky. Blood dripping everywhere and choking the smell of hair she just couldn't take it. The same car from before gazed at the scene from across the street, unblinking.
"Bet you didn't expect this," it said.
And just before falling into another sleep, Amelia noticed a sly smile on Sakura's bloody face.

--

Sakura died and died. Over and over. Time repeats itself. Over and over.

I watched how happy she was, once again, unaware of the light that now glare a shade of blood bright red.

"I'm tired of this story," I told myself, "every story has to end,"

Crashing in and hitting me instead of you, I push you aside to nearly dodge a truck. Blood dipping everywhere and chocking the smell o hair you breathe in a gulp of air and just can't take it.
"Bet you weren't expecting that," I told the cat with a sly smile on my face.

And with that, Sakura fell into a deep, dark sleep.

--

Nearly jumping from her school seat, Sakura woke with a jolt delivered from the teacher. She wiped the tears from her eyes and began copying the notes from the board.
