Differently wired

Chapter 2

Nevi's POV:

School can be a challenge for students with ADHD. And we'll I tell you that, I mean it. You see, my best friend Zara had ADHD, and it's severe, so basically, I kinda know exactly when she's having... well... let's just call it a 'moment'. People with ADHD are born as they say 'in their own world', but I don't believe that, I just think they' aren't understood right.
Anyways, Zara always does one thing, gets bored, does another thing, gets bored again, and again all the time, but I don't really mind it, it's actually kinda fun to watch. Also, when we're at school, she's in almost all my classes, so I can always make sure she doesn't get TOO distracted, but Ashe obviously still does it, and I can't really stop he from doing it, I mean, it's not like it's my body that I can control, even she can't really control it too well. Another thing that she always does is overthinking, she always does it, and I'm really worried about it. It's a regular thing for her to do; on the same lines, she thinks a lot about school and never knows what to do about her life.

Okay, moving on from that subject, I got to school felling a bit worried because I didn't see Zara in her normal place she meets me if we don't get out the same together, but I saw Jack. "Where's Zara? She normally waits right here," I asked him, "she's not coming today, sorry Nev" he answered. "Why? Did something happen?" I spoke up.
"Nothing happened, don't worry, it's just this morning her ADHD kinda spiked and she couldn't get out of bed, it's one of those days. Also, I'm pretty sure she's on her period because she was asking for a lot of chocolate and coffee knowing the CANT have any. Jot to mention she was being really annoying! Which is normal...but you know what I mean...right?"
"I'm Neviah Andrea Cooper, obviously I know what you mean, I'm the smartest person ever! Anyway, I got to get to class, thanks though, I'll come round after school to help you out a bit." I said smirking a bit at the end of my sentence.
I walked to history, one of the subjects which I actually like, mostly because we learn a lot about death, don't ask why I like that so much, it's complicated. Class finished and I walked to French.

It was now lunch and I was sitting on the same table as Jack and a few of his friends, most people would think I'm crazy for hanging out with a bunch of 17 year old boys, but it's actually kinda fun because they understand me not like others. "Have you ever thought of dating someone" was the question that for me out of my doze, "what?" I asked surprised,
"I asked if you have ever thought of dating someone." Jack asked. Wait- JACK?!
"Uh...no? And when we're you so interested in my love life?" I said rolling my eyes at him. "That's such a lie! Not one single person is catching your eye? That's crazy! I don't believe you" he said with a face that read 'tell me who it is now or I'll tell Zara', if you didn't know, which you probably didn't, Zara was really protective over me, even though she's younger then me; and doesn't want anyone to hurt me, so when Jack uses that threat, I know that he's going to tell Zara that someone forced me to drink last year, it was Alex, Zara's bully. If she found out, she would first, end up threatening Alex, secondly, she would end up shouting to me about why I didn't tell her. So that's why I HAVE to tell Jack who I like...

"It's you!" I instantly opened my eyes as wide as they can get and put my hand over my mouth, he looked really shocked, but I can't tell if it's a good shocked, or a bad one. Most likely a bad one...

"I don't actually know how to react to that" he spoke up breaking the awkward silence,
"look, I know I should tell Zara, but I'm scared she would hate me if I did..." I told him,
"what? Why would you think that, I'd anything, you know that she's the biggest shipper in the world for us two together, she blabbers on about it all day long! Of course she won't be mad at you!"
"You really think?"
"Yeah! I think you should tell her, and if she doesn't mind and is happy, who knows? Something good might happen" he said with a little smirk.
"Okay, I'll tell her, I promise" I said just as the bell ring in our ears. Jack smiled at me and went his own way. I smiled completely forgetting that his friends heard our whole conversation.

After school I headed to Zara's house, which is conveniently right next to mine, I prepared myself for the things I was just about to say. I nervously knocked on the door and her dad opened it,
"Hey Nevi, what're you doing here? Also have you forgotten that you have a key to the house and you can just walk in whenever? Anyways come in!" He said,
"Thanks, im going to head up to Zara's room real quick, also is it okay if I stay for dinner today? It's fine if not though!" I quickly said,
"Of course you can! Your always welcome to!" He said just as I gave him a quick but happy smile to him just before going up to Zara's room. She was in there with Jack, which made me a bit less nervous. She looked really tired, but saw the look on my face and asked, "hey, you okay? You look kinda stressed."
"Uh-yeah im fine, I just gotta tell you something really quick"
"Okay, what is it? Is it about today because I completely understand if your a bit mad at me for not coming to school-"
"It's not about that, I'm completely fine with that. Okay-imma just say it. Ireallylikeyourbrotherbutithinkyoullhatemeforitsoimreallysorry" I really quickly said,
"Okay, Nevi, just calm down and say it because I can't understand a word you just said." She told me.
"Sorry, okay. I really like your brother but I think you'll hate me for it so I'm really sorry." I said a bit slower. She looked like she was about to pass out...

A.N. We love cliffhangers, we really do. Anyways. This chapter kinda escalated from the real story, but I really like it and it took me really long to think of and write. It's also probs a bit scratchy so don't mind that. Anyways who cares.
