Wow, it's Io once again not working on the thing she said she would, I know I only lied to myself about it but I still feel bad.
Anyway as some of you know I'm apart of more than just one fandom! Impressive huh? But something that seems to follow me everywhere in fanfics and reader inserts is the need for the author to make the reader something incredible, take for example the Steven Universe fandom:
It seems a lot of the books are either, oh look at you, you are a gem-hybrid, how rare. OF COURSE IT'S RARE! IT'S NOT ONLY RARE IT BREAKS CANNON! ugh why must the reader always be this incredibly unique character, seriously. Oh and don't even get me started on the ones where you are a Diamond, but like a kind diamond that doesn't shatter gems or hurt leafs.
Just why? I'm not saying they are instantly bad some are incredibly well written, I just hate that the reader is this incredible being with infinite power, oh and they are the best at every thing and people love them.
Stop making the reader a Mary Sue, seriously.Sorry for the rant, I'll go back to procrastinating working on other books now.
