it should have occurred to me, when she didn't appear next day at school.
it should have definitely occurred to me
when her mom asked me what's wrong with her daughter.
if it hadn't yet, it should have occurred to me now, that the marks on her wrists are not rubber band marks.
so when I finally asked her about it,
just yesterday,
she told me it's none of my business.
I said nothing because really, it's not.
but she's my business- why does she not understand that?
if something about her last day has been different,
I would have said something to her at school,
while she cried on my shoulder and hugged my waist
and chest
but neither of us said anything.
she wasn't even close to her sister.
