"What!?" Lucy exclaimed sadly, "you mean to tell me that there's only one magic shop in this whole town?" She added as she firmly put her hands down on the wooden counter in front of her that separated her and the shop owner before her. " 'fraid so, the people 'round here are more fishing folk than they are magic folk" he replied calmly "I reckon most people in town don't even know how to use magic! I built this shop to help the wizards who happened to be passing through". Letting out a sigh she drug her hands of the counter and placed her fists upon her hips as she pouted, "awe man, I came out all this way for nothing". Her companion y/n gave her a small smile and placed a hand on her shoulder, "it's okay Luce" facing the old man again he spoke once more, "now now, don't say that little lady. I have all the latest goods. Let me show you a few" he said as he rummaged through something behind the counter. "See Lucy, don't just give up hope so quick" y/n said as Lucy sighed a bit and fixed her attention back to the man, "I guess you're right n/n"
After finding what he was looking for he pulled out a pink device and pointed at it smiling, "this colors magic is popular, all the young girls really seem to like it!" He poked it, "it lets you change the color of your clothes anytime you want" he rolled his finger over it as Lucy walked over to a nearby shelf eyeing some items as y/n followed. "Purple!" The old man shouted as his clothes changed to a soft purple, "I already have one of those.." she said sadly. "What I really want are some powerful gate keys" "greeeen!" He said cheerfully as he changed once again. "Gate keys huh? That's a rare request" He said as he stopped while Lucy immediately saw something she loved. "What is it Luce?" The slightly younger girl asked as she looked around her and let out a small 'wow' of admiration when she saw the silver gate key resting in a little wooden box. "Pretty" y/n added as Lucy continued fangirling over the key "oh wow! It's the little doggy!!" "Yes but that one's not very powerful you know.." he said as she was quick to reply, "I know.. but I really really want it" she said picking up the box and going over to the old man "so how much?" She said still fawning over the little spirit.
The old man smiled and hold up two fingers, "twenty thousand jewel!" Lucy's smile falters for a second as she laughs nervously, "I'm sorry but how much was that again?" "I said twenty thousand jewel" he repeated both y/n and Lucy just sit there staring at the man for a minute or two before Lucy decides to try and seduce the poor old man, climbing on the counter she speaks again "awe come on how much is it really worth?" She said using her charms "surely you can cut me a deal?" As her best friend y/n wasn't sure whether she should cheer her on or laugh so she tried to stay quiet in the meantime as Lucy winked at the man.

"UGH, I can't believe that old man only knocked off a thousand jewel, y/n!" Lucy said as she angrily stomped her way through town. I sighed and followed after my crazy best friend, "I know Luce, that's crazy though. Twenty THOUSAND for that little gate key. If I had nearly enough I would have pitched in but I'm in the same boat as you right now, broke and needing more jewel" the I replied as I looked around taking in the beauty of the town. "Surely a pretty town like this will have some sort of job that pays well" I added on as Lucy sighed "Yeah, you're right n/n. But don't forget, we are also looking forward to joining fairy tail and we are just BOUND to get good jobs there if they let us join" " I don't see why they wouldn't, you're a pretty great celest-" I was cut off as a large crowd of girls were screaming which caused both of us to stop and look over at the commotion, looking off the walk over we peered down and realized they were all surrounding someone. Two girls ran by squealing, "omg are you serious? He's really here??!" One said cheekily "Salamander!" The other on said just as enthusiastic. "Salamander.." Lucy said as she and I looked in the direction they ran from smiling the clapped her hands together, "as in the famous wizard who uses fire magic you can't even buy in stores!? Wow!" I stared at Lucy swearing up and down that I saw my best friend's eyes turn into hearts over this salamander dude. "He's in this dead end town?" I just shrugged and watched the two girls from before run toward the already large crowd of girls. Before I could say anything more Luce grabbed my arm and had already dragged me down and pushed through the crowd which had slightly annoyed the girls around us, "sorry" I'd occasionally have to say before we came to a halt and she squeezed my wrist harder as she squealed. Looking over at my best friend I could see a million thoughts were running through her head, sighing I turned back around and saw the dude was looking dead at us. 'Oh god, please don't come bother us-' I thought as I prayed he wouldn't do anything. 'Of course' I sighed as Lucy skipped over to him as she kept a hand over her heart as she continued fan girling, "Lucy don't bot- Hey!" I shouted as I was reaching out for Luce when a pink haired male bumped into me saying something about someone named Igneel I believe. "Rude." I muttered as I glared at him.
