Harry woke up and patted the space next to him, reaching for Louis, not knowing it's empty. As he laid on his stomach, he opened only his right eye to peep at the bed. He opened both of his eyes and turned around sitting up when he realized Louis wasn't there.
"Lou?" he called out. "Louis?"
No response.
He groaned and stood up, rubbed his eyes and searched for his phone once he noticed there was no sign of Louis in the apartment. Thankfully, before he started stressing over it, he read the message Louis had sent and he felt his muscles unclenching.
He took his time taking a shower, brushing his teeth and making himself breakfast.
It was now afternoon, a couple hours before his gig. Niall had come over, because he would be the one driving him there. They were hanging out in the living room, Niall sat on the couch and Harry laying on it, his feet on Niall's lap.
"Freaking soulmates, mate," Niall said astonished. "Wow," he breathed out. He grabbed one of the couch pillows and smacked Harry "And you," smack "didn't," smack "tell me," smack "earlier?" smack.
Harry had protectively put his arms over his head as Niall was smacking him with the pillow and let out a little laugh, "I'm so sorry, I have sinned." Niall smacked him again.
"For real, though," Niall said. "When something this big happens, you let me know . Understood?"
"Yes, dad," Harry said and Niall glared at him. "Am I safe now?" he asked referring to Niall's pillow-attack. Niall nodded. "Good-" Harry was interrupted by another smack.
"Now I'm done," Niall stated, putting the pillow back to its place. "Have you talked today at all?"
"No, he told me had to leave, but he hasn't contacted me yet."
"You think he freaked out again or something?"
"Nah," Harry scrunched his nose. "I don't think he would've texted if he was planning on disappearing on me again."
And at that very moment, the door knocked.
Harry raised an eyebrow and Niall furrowed his.
"Is it him?"
Harry shrugged as he stood up and made his way to the door.
"Good thing to know you can walk!" Niall joked and Harry turned around and flipped him off FRIENDS-style.
He opened the door and his heart dropped.
"Hi," Louis exhaled. "Is it okay if I stay here?"
His hair was messy, he had a backpack over his shoulder and his eyes looked puffy.
"Yeah, yeah. Of course," Harry almost whispered and moved, letting Louis walk in.
Louis noticed Niall in the living room and gave him a little wave, which Niall returned, and then headed for Harry's room.
Harry closed the door and stared towards his bedroom as he neared the living room door frame. "I think I'm gonna uh..." Harry said, his eyes still on the bedroom door.
"No worries," Niall replied. "What do you want me to do? Want me to come back later to pick you up?"
"Yeah, we'll talk."
Niall exited the apartment and Harry slowly walked to his bedroom, the door ajar and he knocked on the door frame, leaning against it.
Louis was sitting on Harry's bed, his bag laying on the floor. He sniffled and quickly wiped away his tears, as if he wasn't sobbing. He felt Harry's presence nearing him and then the bed shifted a bit. He didn't need to look up to know Harry was sitting next to him.
