7:27 amFriday, my first day of hell- oh, sorry, I mean school. I dislike school. And I mean strongly dislike. I force myself to roll out of bed and get ready for.. well, y'know. Hell. I look at myself in the mirror and realize I have the worst bedhead and eyebags. My black hair is greasy as hell, sticking out like crazy, and my eyebags are sinking into my skull. I sigh and walk into my bathroom to brush my teeth before showering. I finish my shower and just throw on a black hoodie, maroon skinny jeans, and my glasses.
I look over at my almost broken alarm clock and realize I'm going to be late. Oh well, I'm always late. Even so, I should hurry and get out of the house before he wakes up. I comb my hair messily, grab an apple, slip on my shoes, throw on my shoulder bag, and race out the door. I put in my earbuds and press shuffle on my "kill me" playlist, then start walking towards my demise.

*content warning: mentions of SH, listen with cautionI couldn't hear anything other than my music blasting my eardrums and I really didn't care. Luckily, I start with history this year. History is my absolute favorite subject in school because it's easy. No chemicals to memorize, no difficult formulas to figure out, no having to tell the difference between verbs and nouns. It was a peaceful walk until I got shoved to the ground by some unknown variable. Great, now I'm thinking in math. Back to me being flung onto the sidewalk.
"Ouch," was all I could manage to say as something was squishing my face. I try to open my eyes to see what or who it is that pushed me, but my vision is blurry. "Oh, sorry about that!" They say. I fumble around looking for my glasses for a second before the person hands them to me. I put them on after cleaning them and look at my attacker. I'm met with blue eyes and blonde hair. "It's fine," I say back. My attacker gets off of me and reaches their hand out to me to help me up. I don't take their hand and help myself up. They awkwardly put their hand at their side after I refuse it. "Are you ok," I ask, not caring for the answer.
They smile and say, "Yea! I'm fine! Are you? I did run into you, after all. Well- Roll into you." I look down at their feet and notice rollerskates on their feet. "I tried to warn you, but I don't think you heard me. Sorry about that." I immediately realize my wireless earbuds fell when I did. I look around the ground for them and sigh when I can't find them. Suddenly, the blue-eyed blondie bends down and picks something up before handing them to me. It's my earbuds. "oh, thanks." I mumble to them. "You're welcome! I'm Kate," they say. "Jade," I say back.
"Nice to meet you, Jade!" She says a bit too enthusiastically for it to be 8 am. "Might have been nicer if you didn't roll into me," I respond. She chuckles and nods, "True! Sorry, again." I nod, now getting a better look at her. Pale skin, blue eyes, blonde hair, and she's shorter than me, even with her skates on. She looks.. cute. I then realize I've been staring and nod very quickly before continuing my walk to school. I check my phone and it reads 7:57 am. I sigh and keep walking. I put my earbuds away so I wouldn't get shoved again. I heard her skates start rolling against the sidewalk before slowing at my side. "So, where are you headed?" She asks.
"School..?" I say as a half question. I watch her face drop as she realizes how dumb her question was. "Right. Me too! I go to Timber Creek High. What about you?" She asks. I chuckle a dry chuckle as she asks another dumb question. To put it into perspective, there are only 3 schools in a 40-minute vicinity driving. I'm walking to school. There's Timber Creek Elementary, Timber Creek Middle School, and Timber Creek High. "The same," I say after recomposing. "Oh! Maybe we have classes together?"
I bite my inner cheek and nod, "Maybe we do." I'm trying to keep the talking to a minimum, but it's difficult when the person you're 'talking' to is so talkative. I'll just let her talk while we walk, I guess. Er- While I walk and she rolls.
