Friday morning! My favorite day of the week and it just so happens it's also the first day of school. I'm so excited for today and get up from bed humming a silly tune. I love school because that's where I can make friends. It's the first day of my junior year and I'm happy because I finally managed to get into gardening 101. I stretch a bit and look into my vanity mirror at my hair, noticing the knots in it. I grab my hairbrush and comb it before going to shower. I get out from showering and brush my hair again to make sure all the knots are out.

I decide on a grey, long sleeve turtle neck and a blue skirt. I walk into my kitchen and put some bread in the toaster. While that toasts, I grab an avocado, a tomato, and two eggs. I cut the avocado and tomatoes in preparation for my toast to be ready and put my egg to cook. Sunnyside-up eggs are the best eggs for avocado toast, in my personal opinion. Once my toast is done, I put the avocado on the toast and then put the eggs over it, finishing it off with the tomato slices. I pour a glass of apple juice, which is the better juice, and sit down to eat.

I finished my breakfast, washed my dishes, and brushed my teeth before putting on my grey knee-high socks. Personally, I think rollerskates are the better way to get around, unless your destination is very far, of course. I go to grab my book bag, bag with my shoes, and my wallet. "Can you stop by the shop on your way to school, please? Just to make sure everything looks okay?" I swivel around on my heel to see my mom. I nod and smile at her, "Good morning, mom! Sure, I can swing by and take a look for you. Any reason why?" I notice her smile as she opens her arms for a hug. I love my mom, she isn't normally home though, and if she is she's asleep at this time. I lean into her arms and give her a big hug.

"No, there's no reason. I just want to make sure." I nod to her response before peeking towards the clock on the wall. It reads 7:27 am. "Okay, I'll stop by and check. I should get going now, though, if I want to make it on time." She gave a tight squeeze before letting me go. "Have a nice day at school, Kate." I give her one more smile before putting on my skates and rolling out the front door. I skate down the street before heading towards my mom's shop.

I had stopped by the shop like my mom asked and everything looked fine, so I texted her to tell her. Now I'm on my way to school, but I decided to take a longer, more scenic route. Here's hoping I make it on time. I start humming a random tune I've had stuck in my head for a few days. I think it would make for a nice song, so I might try that on my guitar later today. I skate around a corner, not really paying attention to much as I do cuz it is a very pretty day. Sun out, no clouds to be seen, birds chirping. The definition of a perfect summer day.

My focus finally returns to me as I realize I'm skating downhill a lot faster than I should be. I'll be fine, this will be fine. I mean, I should be fine, right? No, no, no, there's someone walking up ahead and I can't slow down. "WATCH OUTTTTT!!" I shout, but they don't hear me. "EXCUSE MEEE, YOU MIGHT WANT TO MOOOOVE. I CANT STOPPPP." I keep trying to get their attention, but they seem off in their own world, just as I was moments earlier. I stumble trying to slow down, but fail, skating right into the person and dropping us both into the sidewalk.

In this moment, all I want is death honestly. Not because the fall hurt, but out of embarrassment. How could I have just shoved someone to the ground on my first day. I suddenly get pulled from my thoughts once more as I hear a muffled, "Ouch." I realize I'm squishing their face into the ground with my elbow and immediately sit up. "Oh, sorry about that!" I say. Kill me, end me. This is so embarrassing. I watch as they struggle to find something, I realize what it is they're looking for and hand them their glasses. They clean them quickly before putting them on, and meet eyes with me. "It's fine," they say.
