Ellys Eden walked with a satisfied smile.She just finished plucking a full basket of rainbow fruit. She would sold it in the town tomorrow. The rainbow fruit only grow in the Magical Forest. It was used by herbalists to create medicine.She also sold other herbal supply to the herbalist.
After her guardian auntie Stella died, she continued her work to sell the herbal supply to the herbalist in the town. Now she lived alone in a small but comfortable house in the Magical Forest near a waterfall.
The town was a bit far from the forest.Three day in a week, Ellys will delivered the supplies to the herbalist there.
She rarely go to the town. It was because she was different from other residents of the town.The residents in the town wasn't a human. There were full of vampire and witch.When she went to the town, she will wear a hoodie clothes to hide her face. She also always wear a strong perfume ,created by her to hide her scent. From what auntie Stella told her, the vampire has a sharp sense.
Ellys slowed her pace when she heard rustling sound.She cocked her head to the left and find a guy was sitting on the branch about 4 meter from her. He didn't seems to realize her presence. His left hand was hugging the tree while the other one was busy holding something.
"Now ,Now there you go. Don't fall again you little baby. " His gentle voice felt like a smooth wind teasing her hearing sense. She could see the smile on his face. She wonder how he'll smile to her and how does it'll sound when he said her name.
What am I thinking.
She shook her head and her eye return to him. He was standing on the branch with his gaze lowered on the ground. He seems like he was ready to jump from the tree with both of his hand gripping the branch on his head.
Wait. Jumped? She gasped at the thought of him jumping from the 12 feet high. Are he going to kill himself? She couldn't let that happen before her eye. Never.
She throws her basket and started to run towards him.
"Wait!Stop!" Her eye went wide when his gripped on the tree loosen. He seems startled by her .
Adryan Sweeden was planning to use his magic to land but he wouldn't be able to land with a woman standing in the place he had marked.
Shit he was falling and he'll end up crashing down the woman.
He closed his eyes and whisper "revert. "
Ellys shutted her eyes. She saw he's falling straight to her. She thought she'll crashed by his weight.
But then nothing happens. Slowly she opens her eye .She gasped at the sight in front of her.
A clear blue eyes staring at her with a curiosity .Their eyes locked together. She couldn't bring herself to look away.
Then she realized something was wrong. The fact that she was staring down to him means ...
The blood rushed to her face.
She was on top of him while his arm wrapped around her . He didn't seems bothered by it.
Quickly she tried to get up. Her legs wooble and couldn't take her weight. When she was about to fall a strong hand caught her.
"Hey easy. "
He was still on the ground. Sitting comfortably .He put her on his lap and his hand snaked around her waist. Holding her firmly.
"Are you all right? " His hot breath tingling her ear.
"I-I am sorry. I'll be okay in several minutes. This must be because of the shocked earlier." She sighed.
His body feels really warm.He remind her of aunt Stella. She restraint herself from snuggling in his laps.
"Why you're running and yelling to me like that? I'm practically going to use my magic.So it was not like I'm going to die."
Oh magic. Now that explains why they changed position.
"Well I thought you were going to kill yourself. "
She felt his body vibrating behind her back.
A free laugh escaped from his lips.
"Stop laughing at me." She thrust his elbow on his stomach.
"Ow.. That's hurt." He said it in playful tone.
"So, you're witch. " She barely said it.
She sounds. Dissapointed? Why?
"What are you? Vampire? I don't think so.If you're a witch, you wouldn't run to me like that.Now tell me. "
"Sorry then for not being what you thought .I'm a mere human after all. " She stiffen and then tried to get away from his hold.
She didn't understand why she suddenly felt humiliated by being a human after hearing his word.
He tighten his hand around her.
"Stop struggling. I'm sorry okay. Didn't meant to insult you. So you're same as her Huh.?"A rare kind to find here. He let out a soft laugh.
Her? Ellys felt a weird feeling when he talked about another girl.
"Eh, you meant there's another human here.?" She turned around and faced him. His hand loosen around her. He still let it landed flat there.
He stared at her with both of his brow ups. "Yes, I did Said your kind were rare. But I met a few of them." His eye fell to her lips.
"But aunt Stella said .."She mumbled and then stopped.
"Oh no!My rainbow fruit!" With his hand loosen around her ,she get up easily.
"Hey wait." His hand caught her wrist.
"Look I need to find my basket.I throw it when I thought you're going to jump. The herbalist going to need it tomorrow.If you're not going to help me then at least let me helped myself. "
He lift his hand in surrendered style. When she shoot him serious glance.
"Okay I'll help. "He pushed himself up.
"You don't have to walked me. I'm used here. " She walked backwards. That way she could still see his face and kept walking.
They walk deeper in the forest.
"I still can't believe you live here alone for almost two years. " He cares his chin with his thumb.
She drew a small smile on her lips.
"Let the die in peace, and the living survive." That aunt Stella said to me before she gone.
He caught the sadness in her eye.
"Oh we're here."
Adryan stood still. Enjoying the view of waterfall in front of him.
"There my home. " Ellys pointed to the left of the waterfall place. He could see a tree shaped like a gate.
"Um...Are you going in?" Ellys asked nervously. It's a first time she brought someone to her home.
Adryan open his mouth to say yes buy then. He closed his eyes.
New Born. Adryan. Lucy. Alex. Kyle
Return. Immediately
For the elders to use telepathy to called them. That's meant something big has happened.
He took her hand and squeeze it in his.
"I'd love to but something comes up. I need to go.I promised I'll come to you when it's settled. "
"Oh, it's okay. I'll be waiting then." She tried to not showing she was disappointed.
"See you. Take care. " He vanished in the forest.
"Can I trust you?"
Elyss hugged herself.
