Love In A Bottle

Dear No One

2016:

It's been years since we've broke up and I was transferred to study abroad after my father found out what happened.

And now here I am, still with my jetlagged, staring at the bride and the groom exchanging their vows with each other. I've moved on and I know everything happened for a reason.

Sometimes, God took something away from you because you deserve better. That's what my father always told me. Maybe he was right, God is probably still busy with His great plan for me.

"You okay Sam?" said my friend Jhey. She's the sole reason why I am here right now. I should've gone home by now. Her mom is a close relative of the groom and because her mom told her to attend it, she brought me along here. It sucks I know!

She didn't know that her long long cousin was my ex-boyfriend. And I hate questions that's why I'd rather not telling her about it.

I hate to admit, but it made me cringe to see those two. 'I'm outta here. See you later at the hotel. " I walked out the venue and left without looking back at them.

I get into the cab " To Hilton's hotel please" I told the taxi driver. I look out the window of the taxi and the sunset is so beautiful now. The wedding venue was held at a beach hotel and you can see the beautiful and white sand from here.

It's like I want to relax my mind on that beach first. So I stopped the taxi and paid the driver. I took off my shoes and walked on the white beautiful sand barefoot and just stare at the ocean.

I was walking for a few minutes when I suddenly stepped on something like a rock. I paused for a moment, and dug a little in the sand. It wasn't a rock, but a little bottle and it was already full of sand because the lid was already open

I shook the bottle to get rid of the sand. But very few fell. I remember that I always had sticky notes in my bag and ballpen so I thought of writing something.

"Dear soulmate,

Are you somewhere out there waiting for me too? Do you even exist in this world?. I must be crazy doing this right now.

But whoever you are, Please know that I love amusement park and I'm never afraid of heights.

Cats are my best friends so expect me to meow whenever I see one. 😺🐈

I love stargazing and just lay down at the beach staring out of nowhere. Food is my best buddy, so i hope i can get along with someone who loves eating as well.

Sea is my comfort, though i can't even swim.
And I love playing in the rain while walking on the street.

And wherever you are right now, I hope you are happy.

After I wrote that, I folded it into a tiny star and put it in that little bottle. I carefully covered the bottle so it won't get wet. I stood up, and I threw that bottle far away. The wave was quite strong so that the sea carried it away quickly.

I immediately shook the sand off my clothes and looked back at the sea where it was carrying the sadness that I thought was gone. I finally walked to the place where I got off the taxi earlier and fortunately another taxi passed by so I got on immediately.

"Tomorrow is another day" is all I could say. The day was too long for me, and I just want to sleep now. "To Hilton's hotel please, thanks" i said to the driver and rest my eyes for while
