Kenma's pov
The last day of retreat had also come to an end. It was time to say goodbye. And this he meant the moment of hugs, physical contact and tears. I hate all of this. Karasuno was the first to leave. The road to Miyagi was long enough, so they had to leave before dark.
"It was great, I had so much fun," Shoyou sighed at my side as we walked to their bus together. "Yes, I think,"
I said looking at my feet, hands in my pockets kicking every poor pebble I passed. Hinata turned to look at me.
"We will talk again this summer, right? "he asked with his usual toothy grin. I looked up at him and tried to force a smile too.
Before any words could come out of my mouth, he felt an arm on his shoulder and that nauseatingly familiar smell of jasmine. "Of course you will! You will be practically together again every day, from the day after tomorrow! "Kuroo exclaimed, with a satisfied air, as if he had just said that phrase that would have won him the Nobel. I raised a eyebrow.
" What do you mean,Kuroo explain" "it actually, Kubro and I had the wonderful idea of spending the most beautiful summer of our lives, all together "said Bokuto, emerging from I don't know exactly where behind us.
Shoyou's eyes sparkled. "Really !? It's a brilliant idea! Bakeyama will you come too? True? True?" she said, literally jumping over the harbor, in the direction of her lifter, a few meters away from us.
Tobio Kageyama turned to Hinata, with a completely listless air, who just wanted to sit on the seat of the bus and fall asleep. "I don't know, boke. What do you mean when you say all together?" the dark-haired man asked, looking in the direction of the gray owl.
"Well, we, you, and Kuroo had the wonderful idea that he wanted to invite the Seijoh too." she replied. I saw in Kageyama's expression a mixture of disgust and fear. "One more reason not to come," he said.
"Don't be boring, Tobio, we'll all come, even you!" interjected a short boy with dark hair and a blond tuft, if I do not mistake their free. "Even Tsukishima accepted!" "Um, I've never consented to anything like that," said the person concerned, who along with his friend with freckles, was loading the bags on the vehicle.
Kuroo suddenly broke away from me to go to the four-eyed. That gesture made me feel useless, almost a ghost. "But you must be there Tsukki. We will have fun, I promise you" smiled the big black cat, putting his hands on the blond's shoulders trying to move his expression always disinterested in him.
And there he succeeded, to everyone's amazement. Tsukishima adjusted his glasses to his nose and lifted a corner of her lips in a smile. "Okay, if you say so," she looked away and headed for the door of the bus. Even his friend, Yamaguchi was stunned by that sudden change. "Did you see? Stingyshima will come too!" Shoyou exclaimed, still facing his lifter.
Kageyama sighed and got on the bus. Shoyou greeted me with a quick wave of his hand and then rushed to the vehicle door too. I could hear the screams of Kageyama and Hinata from beyond the closed windows.
Coach Ukai called the whole team of ravens together. Yaku said goodbye to
Sugawara-san for the last time and Yamamoto hugged with farewell Karasuno's shaved shave is exaggeratedly dramatic. As the crow bus left the parking lot, he felt a warm hand rest on my shoulder. I hoped it was Kuroo's hand, but Kuroo was standing in front of me, where Tsukishima used to be. "Bokuto-san, the bus is about to leave. We are just waiting for you," Akaashi said in a quiet voice, giving the bigger owl a slight smile. "Thank you Akaashi" Bokuto smiled in response, and immediately I saw Keiji's face getting more red.
We had never talked about it, but it was clear that the relationship between those two was more than just a friendship. You could see a mile away that Keiji liked Koutarou, and vice versa. But for the first time since I had known him, I had the feeling that Akaashi was unsure what to do.
"Well, then we see kittens" continued the gray starting to approach his partner. "Wait! What are you going to do? I remind you that we will be four teams! Basically more than twenty people! How are we going to do it for the night? And--"
I started to say and Bokuto put a hand on my mouth. "Don't worry, I've thought of everything," said the largest. "Oh, great. Now I'm calmer," I spat sarcastically, rolling my eyes and letting Kuroo and Akaashi chuckle. "Quiet, kitty. Brokuto has a huge villa near the sea in his name, it's not a problem," Kuroo said.
returning to my side with his usual smile. she nodded and Bokuto snorted.
"Pft, you of little faith," he said and Kuroo laughed. That terrible laugh from her that just hearing her made me laugh too. There was the sound of an engine starting and the two owls were alarmed. "HEY HEY HEY, WAIT FOR US" Bokuto yelled at their bus.
"So see you tomorrow bro" they exchanged a last goodbye, before Koutarou got on the bus. Akaashi turned to me. "Don't wait until tomorrow to clarify me. You and him have a pending argument," he said softly, so that only I could hear him raising the corner of his lips in a smile. "Yes, yes I know. I'll call you as soon as I get home, I promise"
I smiled in my turn and Akaashi looked at me uncertainly. "I'm counting on you," he said. His tone revealed all the concern he had for me. After my fainting we weren't able to talk much. But still he couldn't deny him the evidence. I had never been able to. Akaashi immediately understood my situation with Kuroo and he offered to help me.
Keiji is a really good friend. "Maybe you'd better get in, if you don't want them to leave you here," I said, pointing to the vehicle stationed waiting for him alone. Akaashi turned to it, ruffled my hair slightly in a salute, and went inside, the doors closing behind him.
He followed the Fukurodani bus with his eyes going away. as long as Kuroo behind me he didn't say, "Let's go too." The journey home was shorter than expected. I sat next to the window and kept my eyes on my PSP for the whole trip. In that retreat I didn't have much time to use it, as Kuroo always kept it in my place.
Next to me, the latter was sleeping with his head on my shoulder. From time to time I turned to garden it and was always enchanted by it. When we got to school, Nekomata gave her usual pep talk and after we changed, we all went home. It was the first time since we had known each other that Kuroo and I hadn't said a word all the way. He had formed a one among us.
surreal discomfort, never existed. Arrived in front of the goal we stopped. Our houses were literally side by side, so we weren't going to be apart for long. Kuroo turned to me, bringing a hand behind his neck and shifting his weight from foot to foot. "So ... See you the day after tomorrow?" he asked him, without meeting my gaze.
I looked up at him looking for his little hazel eyes, but Kuroo always looked away. "Yes ... Of course, the day after tomorrow," I replied softly, looking at my feet. Silence again. I usually love it, but now I would really like to find a way to break it at all costs. Kuroo was also looking for something to say, without success.
"So I'm going ... Goodnight kitty"
he finally smiled at me.
"Night Kuro"
I too hinted a forced smile. Kuroo walked over and kissed me on the forehead. He did it. He did it seriously. I didn't dream it. And while Tetsurou was already behind his door, I stood there like a fool staring at the spot where the person I had been in love with for years had been.
After I woke up, I went home and found my mother asleep on the sofa with the television still on. It must have been late. It had been dark outside for quite a while, the clock on the huge screen was 11.35. I turned off the television and put one on blanket to my mother by turning off the light.
I took something from the fridge and went up to my room, throwing myself on the bed. I turned on the phone and immediately dialed Akaashi's number. But before I could initiate the call, she felt his eyes grow moist and a lump forming in her throat. I dropped the phone beside me, with Keiji's number still on the screen, and sank my face into the pillow, sobbing. Damn Kuroo.
Damn love
