Chapter 12: Realization

Netami walks off, filled with pleasure. She is certain who the new Demon King is now. She knows what she must do now, kill Satan and let Arino take over the role. Netami has always been stuck in a never ending trial due to how Satan ran things in hell. As Netami walks from the camp, she sees Ronin, still injured from when he got stabbed in the chest. Netami looks at Ronin and knows that this is her true trial, the trial of reverting evil essence to greatness.

Netami: "Do you want another chance, Ronin?"

Ronin: "So you finally found something that will make you do good deeds?"

Netami: "It would seem so, I know Satan won't be too happy about this though."

Ronin; "So? Who cares about that maggot, if he doesn't see the errors in his ways he'll be just like me, a burden. Only burdens to society wreak havoc once they gain power."

Netami: "I was wrong to distrust Mammon. I should apologize to him. Hopefully, he'll have the humility to show up."

As Netami says this, Satan shows up in front of her. Netami looks at Satan stone cold. Satan, angry that she didn't accomplish her mission, starts to yell at Netami.

Satan: "Why didn't you do your job?!"

Netami: "Why did you ask me to kill my nephew?"

Satan: "That nuisance doesn't deserve a second chance at life! You had the upper hand! And you let him get away?! What the fuck is wrong with you woman?!"

Netami ignores Satan. Satan noticing this gets more angry.

Satan: "Answer me you useless maggot!"

Satan starts to summon dark blades and point them at Netami. As Satan does this, he notices something odd, Netami's eyes are turning dark blue. Satan doesn't know what this entails.

Netami: "Did you forget who your younger sister is, Satan?"

Satan: "All I remember is that she was a useless burden on the rest of the sins. She couldn't utilize her power fully because she was weak!"

As Netami hears the word weak, she starts to get angry. She almost starts to power up but she keeps calm and just looks at Satan. When she calms down, she hears But what about you Satan? When Netami turns around, she sees Mammon appear in front of her.

Satan: "Well if it isn't the traitor! How's being useless against the hierarchy going along for you?"

Mammon: "I've proven time and time again to be useful against the hierarchy, Satan."

Satan: "And after all this time, you are still nothing but small fry to me!"

Mammon: "I don't have time to entertain your stupidity. Netami I overheard you wanted to talk to me so let's go."

Satan: "I'm not done talking to you, you swine!"

Mammon: "And I don't have the time to listen to your bullshit."

Mammon's eyes glows crimson red. Satan is shocked by this manner as he scoffs while disappearing.

Netami looks at Mammon and starts to tear up. She starts to remember all the bad things she caused back when they were still young.

Mammon: "We'll talk more when we go to Vinhlox."

Mammon looks at Ronin who is scared beyond belief. Ronin quickly kneels but fails due to how much blood he is losing.

Mammon: "Is he the daughter's father?"

Netami: "Yes, he is. He says he wants to reconcile with her but he can't right now. He's going through his own trial himself."

Mammon: "At least heal him so he can be on his way. He'll die if we leave him in this condition."

Netami uses healing magic to heal all of Ronin's wounds. Ronin realizes what Netami is doing, she is helping him go through his own mental trial. For at the right time, he can have his own redemption for himself. Ronin says goodbye to Netami and Mammon as he heads east, to go on his own separate journey.

Mammon and Netami go back to Vinhlox to see how Arino is doing. Before they enter Vinhlox, Ammon and Netami have to disguise themselves as necromancers so they can blend with the people. As this is Netami's first time entering Vinhlox, she intakes the beautiful scenery. Old fashioned houses, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, public pools all combine to make the beautiful cake that is Vinhlox. She finally tastes what freedom is like. No rules on how to live, no reason to commit any inhumane acts, a peaceful life that she has been desperately wanting.

When Mammon enters the hotel, he sees Arisa and Savona there scared.

Mammon: "What's wrong?"

Arisa: "Oh, Dad! You returned!"

Savona: "Arino's condition is improving but he's still in a coma. I really hope he's okay"

Netami is scared to enter the hotel. The shame portal has entered itself in the hotel. Mammon encourages Netami to get in the hotel and take on the shame of what she's done. When Netami enters the hotel, Savona and Arisa are shocked, but they are still too exhausted to get up and fight.

Mammon: "Don't stress about Netami. She's here to reconcile with all of us, including Arino."

Arisa: "I thought she wanted to take Satan's power and wreak havoc? What's this sudden change in attitude?"

Netami: "Well I never thought I'd have the opportunity to get out of this shell to be frank. But seeing Arino was like seeing the old me. Weak and scared, but still showing the strength to stand up to those in power."

Mammon: "I'm glad you finally awakened your true strength as well!"

Netami: "Hehe. But I've come here because I know a way to get Arino out of his coma."

Arisa and Savona in unison: "I'm all ears."
