Y'all I haven't updated this in years, wow. But there's all of the sudden a lot of you requesting for me to update so here I am...the first part of this chapter was a draft from all those years ago, but after that it's all going to be new. I'll probably bring this fic to a close after a few more chapters, but for now, here's more! @kid_sister14 this is specifically for you bbg<3

            Mal's POV:

Bobby pulled into a parking space so fast I thought I actually may throw up. Then he got out of the car, slammed the door, and came around to help me out of the car and into the hospital. He quickly got me checked in, then I was rushed to a room where it felt like I was checked out by a billion doctors. They told Bobby that I just had an abnormally high fever and that I would be okay. Bobby then told me, that he was going to go home and explain what happened to our grandma, before she got worried. He also said he'd pick up some food, then he'd be back. I nodded and let myself drift off, the exhaustion from lack of sleep and sickness taking a huge toll on me.

                       Dinger's POV:

I made it to the hospital and began to walk through the doors, right as Bobby came out. "Bobby! Bobby man, is she ok? Please God tell me she's ok," I begged. "She's fine." Bobby assured me "The doctors said she has an abnormally high fever, it's kinda concerning but they also said it would be ok and not to worry too much." I released the breath I didn't even realize I was holding. "Can I go see her?...Will she want to see me?" I asked, fiddling with my fingers. "Why wouldn't she?..." he asked, thinking something was up. "Well uh- I, uh, I..." "Spit it out!" Bobby exclaimed, done with my stuttering. "I kinda blew up on her yesterday when she tried to help me. I was really upset about something, so when when tried to help, I just blew up because it was a too much. I was trying to think of a way to apologize when I saw you rushing by so fast; I knew something was wrong. I feel awful about what I did and I really need to see her." Bobby scowled at me, scolding me for being such a jerk. "You'd better pray she's okay. Room 19." Bobby said shortly, nodding to me and going off.

I nodded back and walked to go through the doors when a nurse stopped me. Only immediate family and significant others are allowed back. You are? 'Shit' I thought to myself. "Her boyfriend." I answered. The nurse smiled warmly and let me pass. I walked to the room, hoping you wouldn't find out about that fib. I was nervous to see Mal. I just wanted to apologize and be there for her. I opened the door and saw her lying in the hospital bed, she was hooked up to a million machines and it broke my heart. I sat in the chair beside her bed, and picked up her hand to hold it. I wondered if she even knew I was there. I intertwined my fingers with hers, and rubbed my thumb over the back of her hand. She stirred in her sleep, squeezing my hand tighter to hers. Part of me was dying for her to wake up so I could explain everything to her, but the other part was so so scared. Scared she'd never want to see me again.

My thoughts were interrupted by Malibu starting to stir, her eyes slowly fluttering open. She spoke, "Huh? Dinger? What happened?" "Shh, you're okay now. Bobby took you to the hospital because of your fever, remember? They say you'll be fine, but they're going to keep you for tonight just in case." She nodded, staring at our intertwined fingers and blushing a little. "I- I um, sorry." I stuttered, pulling my hand away, flustered. "I don't mind." She whispered, almost too quiet for me to hear. I blushed, and then spoke, "I wanted to explain all that happened. I was a complete dick and-" my beginning to explain was interrupted by a nurse walking in. "Sorry to interrupt, but I have to come check how you're doing. I know you'd rather it just be you and you boyfriend, but I'll be gone before you even know it." she said, winking at Malibu. Mal looked at the nurse confused, then at me. I just shrugged my shoulders and gave a sheepish smile. After the nurse did a few tests, she left once again, leaving Mal and I in silence, alone.

Mal's POV:

I was very interested to hear what Dinger had to say. He obviously felt bad for the other day, but so did I. So really, I needed to apologize too. Dinger explained, not leaving a single detail out. He told of the home issues that led him to blowing up at me, and it hurt my heart to know people could treat him the way they did. After him explaining, I took my turn. I apologized for my pushing him to the edge, and in the end, we were in an embrace. "Well I guess I should go then...Bobby will be back to stay with you soon." He told me. "Wait just a minute there mister, why was the nurse calling you my boyfriend?"I asked him, smirking at how flustered he got. "They um...they wouldn't let anyone in unless they were a family member or significant other sooo...." He replied. I smiled, and his cheeks were red; I didn't doubt that mine were too. "I'm teasing you Dinger, it's not like I mind." I laughed, but quickly shut my mouth as I realized what I'd just said. Now it was Dinger's turn to smirk, then he said, "You wouldn't, huh?" he began walking closer to my hospital bed, causing me to stutter incoherent nonsense as a reply. "Hm, really now?" he teased, leaning over the bed, really close to my face. My heart was racing, 'was he really about to kiss me?! Oh. My. Gosh. What if my breath stunk?' I was so worried. 'I know I have to look like a total freak right now, frick!' We stared into eachother's eyes as he got closer....
