Please Don't

Your relationship with any and all Exorcists is a complicated one, as are most relationships centered around things such as fear and jealousy. Being the daughter of Lilith, the primordial she-demon, was not exactly the first thing you wanted people to know about you. The looks of disgust made your skin crawl, as if thousands of insects were playing tag on your body. Though, as suffocating as life in the True Cross Academy cram school was, it was all worth it when you graduated second in your class. The person who graduated first was someone you had a few things in common with, Rin Okumura. The son of Satan.

Life after graduation was equal part irritating and impatient. With your and Rin's treatment you often wondered when he would finally prove them all right in the best way: revenge. Though diligently true to his word, Rin still holds onto that promise to become a Paladin and defeat Satan. Almost every day your mind is filled with thoughts of revenge, revenge for being treated as a threat, as a lab rat, and revenge for all those damn experiments disguised as "training". Those thoughts made your days of heavy work a little better. Days that felt endless had a slight silver lining. Days almost like this one.

You drop the heavy box marked "Clothes" and sigh as the thud echoes through your nearly empty room. You run your hands through your hair as you tilt your head at the door. "Yukio, why are we in such a rush? Aren't we the only ones here?" you call into the hallway. During your time at True Cross Academy, you shared a dorm with the Okumuras. The dorm wasn't bad, just the amount of dirty looks you got from normal students with crushes on Yukio got annoying real fast. "Mephisto said be out by five p.m!" Yukio's voice echoes down the hall. You sigh again as your phone rings, the song Two Heartbeats and a Red Sin by ON/OFF playing immediately. It was 4:15 pm. Picking up your phone, you see the same contact that has been calling almost nonstop. The contact name you gave it flashes across your eyes: Dickhead (aka wailing snatch who's only redeeming quality is his way with guns). "Stop doing that." Yukio's voice comes again as you decline the call. "Doing what?" you answer as you pick the box back up and carry it outside where Rin and Yukio were.

"It's obvious that you're still mad. But for the time being try to keep it under wraps." was his words as he closes the moving truck. "You're one to talk." you mutter as you look at Rin. Ever since you both were promoted to Upper First Class Exorcists, his relationship with his twin worsened by the day. Until one day, Rin stopped trying to fix their relationship. He stopped purposely sitting by Yukio and asking how his day was, he stopped sleeping in the room they once shared, he stopped cooking him his favorite foods, he stopped trying to make Yukio smile. He stopped caring. Rin looks back at you with an equally tired expression, his eyes bearing dark circles. You both know fully that your promotion is just an excuse to perform more severe and possibly deadly experiments with you both. There are days where you and Rin would be forced to draw your swords and fight for hours on end. There are days where Exorcists would have you summon nearly thousands of upper rank familiars until you fainted from exhaustion, or have you and Rin repeatedly sprayed with holy water until you passed out from the burning pain. Days like those, Yukio has zero knowledge of.

Your phone rings again and, instead of the previous number, your father is calling. Your thumb taps the green answer button as you turn and bring the phone to your ear. "Hey, Dad." your voice comes out relaxed. "Hey (nickname). Are you all packed up? Masaru wanted to check on you before you and the Okumuras move." he answers. You look back at Rin, his eyes just as tired as yours. "I'm all packed and we're ready to go." you answer, doing well to hide the exhaustion in your voice. "Are you sure? Mephisto informed me of some of your training." That fucking snitch- "I'm sure, Dad. Tell Masaru I'm doing fine." you urge. "Okay, okay (nickname). Just make sure to stop by soon, okay?" his voice softens. "Okay Dad, I promise. Bye." you hang up then look at the truck. Your father, Shouta L/N, widower of Lilith and has now remarried to his husband Masaru L/N. A brilliant Exorcist fit to be a Paladin, however, he denied the promotion, and instead was promoted as the fourth Arc Knight. After Lilith died, he took you with him to Shiro Fujimoto's church and asked if you could stay for a while. It was there where he met his future husband Masaru Ichijo. Masaru is an Upper First Class Exorcist holding the meisters Doctor, Aria, and Dragoon. He doesn't work in exorcisms, mainly working in antidotes and other medicinal studies.
