The gang and I were sitting in the Lucky Cat Café for breakfast as usually when Wasabi actually knocked over the salt, spilling some onto the table. He gasps and dust it off the table into his hand and threw it over his shoulder. He rubs his hands together as he left out a sigh of relief and went back to reading on his phone.
"Uh, what was that?" Fred asked Wasabi. "What? Nothing. I don't know what you're talking about." Wasabi said, standing up and walking over to the counter for a refill of coffee.
"Thank you." He said to Cass and he turns around, coming face to face with Fred. "The thing with the salt, why did you do it? Why? Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why,?" Fred asked, bouncing around a very annoyed looking Wasabi.
"Okay, okay. Spilling salt is bad luck and throwing a pinch over your shoulder reverses the bad luck." Wasabi explains. "I don't know, Wasabi. Sounds like some weird superstition to me." Fred said and Wasabi presses his coffee mug against his lips to silence him.
"Shh! I'm a scientist! I'm supposed to believe in facts and data, not bad luck and superstition." Wasabi said, setting his mug down on the counter. Fred smiles, taking the salt and flicking it over, spilling some onto the counter.
Wasabi shrieks in terror. "What are you doing?!" He cried, picking up the salt. "Helping you by proving bad luck isn't real. Wait for it. Wait for it." Fred said as Wasabi whimpers.
"See? Nothing bad happened." Fred said, walking back towards our table. "Are you sure you don't want to throw a little over your shoulder?" Wasabi asked, throwing the spill salt over his shoulder.
At that moment, Hiro's phone starts ringing and he took it out. I glance over to see Megan was FaceTiming him. "Hey, Megan." Hiro greeted her when he answered. "Sup, Megan." I said, waving to her.
"Hi, guys. I'm so sorry, but I can't hang out today. I have to work on a story for the school news-feed." Megan said as Fred tries to lean over to join in on the conversation but I push his face away. "No problem." Hiro said. "What's the story?" I asked, curious.
"It's huge. I'm gonna find out the secret identities of Big Hero 7." Megan announced, causing Honey Lemon to nearly choke on her food and Wasabi to spill even more salt again, which he quickly toss over his shoulder.
"Oh. Wow, that sounds, uh..." Hiro muttered. "Exciting! Isn't it? I can't wait to get to work. See you later." Megan said, waving goodbye and she hangs up. "Uh, should we be concerned about this?" Go-Go asked.
"No way. Superhero identity, nobody can crack that code. Except Obake, Momakase, Krei... Well, I guess Granville knew the whole time." Fred said. "Fred, it'll be fine." I reassured him.
"I hope you're right." Wasabi said and he shrieks when Honey Lemon accidentally knocks over the salt again. He throws the salt over his shoulder and tosses the container off the table, hitting Mochi with it.
Mochi yowls and screeches, leaping onto Wasabi and knocking both him and Honey Lemon down. Mochi lands in the table on all fours, his tail puffed up. "Meow."
Hiro and I decided to go over to Megan's to see how much she's learned about Big Hero 7 and hopefully convince her to stop trying to figure out our identities and post it for everyone to know.
We followed Megan's dad up stairs and he knocked on her bedroom door. "Come in." Megan said from inside and he opens the door. "You have a visitor." He announced. "One is a boy visitor." He muttered and we poked our heads in.
"Hiro! (Name)! I want to show you what I've been working on." Megan said, gesturing to her cork board full of photos and news articles about us and the team. "This is... impressive." I muttered, worriedly.
