Chapter 13

Ruqayya went back into the house and lock the door after her aunties left for the dinner party. She went to Aliya's room to take her bath and pray. She entered the bathroom to take her bath. She perform ablution and prayed.

Ruqayya was still on the prayer mat when she heard a knock on the door. "Who could it be?" She asked herself. Everyone went for the dinner so who could be knocking?

"Who is that?" She yelled.

"It's Yusra. Please open the door." Yusra yelled back. Ruqayya opened the door after checking the pinhole.

"I forgot something in the room. I am here to pick it up." Yusra explained to a confused Ruqayya. She nodded and entered the bathroom leaving Yusra in the room. Yusra was no longer in the room when she came out of the bathroom. Ruqayya didn't pay much attention to it because she thought Yusra must have gone back to the dinner. She locked the door and sat on the bed, watching a movie on Aliya's laptop.

After about 30 minutes, there was a knock on the door again. Ruqayya got up and check the pinhole. She opened the door only to see a nervous Yusra. Her hands were shaking. She smiled weakly at Ruqayya and entered the room. Ruqayya closed the door, finding the whole thing strange. She noticed the blood stain on Yusra's cloth and asked her about it.

"Why is there blood stain on your cloth?"

"Time of the month." Yusra replied and entered the bathroom. Ruqayya sat on the bed, watching the movie on Aliya's laptop. The blood stain was in front of her cloth, but Ruqayya doesn't want to question her. Yusra can be rude sometimes.

"Yusra came out of the bathroom few minutes later wearing the same type of cloth. Everything was the same with the previous one. Ruqayya find it strange but didn't say anything.

"I am going back to the dinner." Yusra said and left the room. Ruqayya locked the door and continued watching her movie. It was after she left Ruqayya remembered to ask her how she entered the house. She didn't have a spare key so how did she enter? Maybe aunt Adama gave her the spare key.

Ruqayya continued watching the movie for almost half an hour when she heard a loud shrill cry. She jolted up, wondering where the sound came from. She heard the sound again, making her tremble in fear. But the voice sounds familiar to her. She is sure she has heard that voice before.

She picked up her phone and quickly dial her mother's number. The number was switched off. She tried calling her aunt, but it was also switched off. She was about to call Afnan when she heard the sound again.

Farida!

That voice sounded like Farida's voice. Ruqayya quickly got up from the bed. She wanted to open the door, but remembered she doesn't have anything to defend herself with. Her eyes landed on the knife Aliya used to cut apples before they went out. She carried the knife and opened the door. Everywhere was dark so she put on her phone's flashlight. She walked down the stairs, slowly. Her body was shaking due to fear. She slipped on the stairs, making her phone fall on the floor. She covered her mouth so she won't make a sound. She saw someone's shadow in the dark. She screamed and attempted to run away.

There was someone standing in front of her making her scream. She couldn't see the person's face in the dark. Without thinking twice, she stabbed the person with the knife she was holding. The light came on, before she could push the person's body away. Her hands were covered in the person's blood. She look at the person on the floor and her eyes widen in shock.
