winter had passed, and on the day of april, flowers have blossomed leaving their splendid foliage littered around the garden of hera palace.

ebelyn raised her fingers and brushed  through the silky strands of her light brown hair. she tousled it to the side, letting it rest on her shoulder.

doe, light brown eyes scanned the lobby of hera's palace as she tried to find the familiar faces of ma-ri and sang-ah along with their children.

ebelyn imagined what their children looked like. would they look more like their mom? or their dad? she didn't know, but ebelyn had kept her perking interest well hidden behind her fingers as she fiddled with her thumb.

when the sound of a small ping made its way to ebelyn's ear canal, she snapped her eyes towards the elevator, focusing on who would come out.

a girl in her age came out first with a posture that screamed "posh!" she was wearing a black, chanel crop top paired with light black plaid skirt. her hair was curled as it reached up to her waist.

as ebelyn scanned the girl's physique, her attention was caught with ma-ri coming out of the same elevator, immediately hooking her arms up with the girl that came out seconds later.

with grace and poised, ebelyn stood up—patting her skirt then greeted the two with a welcoming grin.

"auntie!" ebelyn chirped, her voice resonating through the lobby.

ma-ri, who ebelyn calls as auntie, grinned widely. she tightened her hold over the girl as they made their way through ebelyn.

the girl beside her whom ebelyn noted as ma-ri's daughter, scanned ebelyn from tip to shoes until a beaming smile formed on her lips.

when the two was finally near, ebelyn walked up to ma-ri and gave her a small hug.  she took a step back after a moment then placed her light-brown gaze on ma-ri's daughter.

"ebelyn," ma-ri grinned then looked at her daughter with the most shiniest gaze ebelyn could see. "this is my daughter, jenny. jenny, this is ebelyn." ma-ri introduced with her hands pointed at the two as their names were called.

"i'm ebelyn! nice to meet you!" her cheeks were puffed out as the smile on her face only widened as the thought of having a friend excited her.

ebelyn reached her hand out—eager for a handshake. jenny immediately reached hers out and shook ebelyn's hand. the warmth resonated through ebelyn's skin, and she thought: 'is this what having a friendly handshake feels like?'

ebelyn released her touch over jenny's hand as the latter hid hers behind her back after tucking the loose strand that strayed.

ebelyn observed the girl's smile, and relief surrounded her heart like a comfy blanket on a semi-cold winter.

'it's a genuine smile...'

"so, jenny..." ma-ri looked at her daughter with her hands placed on Jenny's shoulders. "i'll leave ebelyn in your hands. have fun okay?"
