A mother's dignity

"Mother!" My daughter, Ria shouted.

She ran as if chased by loose dogs and embraced me with all her strength.
I could feel her trembling.

'I'm a failure of a mother' reality hit me again.

"Don't leave us again!" Ria's voice was desperate.

A girl in her 20s came forward and bowed to me.

My granddaughter, Emily, who got tangled between the troubles of the family.

"Grandmother, it is nice to see you." Her voice was clear and calm but i knew she was silently suppressing her tears.

She stayed looking down and waited for my response.

I push my daughter away and patted my granddaughter's head.

"It's not your fault, sweetie. Grandma seem to have caused misunderstanding."

"Mother, What do you mean mis-"

"Where is Yume?" The young boy asked.

If i remember correctly, He is yume's boyfriend. Such a frail boy, Yume is too good for him.

"She should be in the Ai-space."

"Ai-space?"

"Well, in other words, in my heart." I shaped a heart near my chest.

Everyone looked dumb and confused.

'Is this not the trend anymore?'

"Stop joking! Yume...Yume is in trouble."

"Mother, you don't have to-" A maid pushed Ria away.

"Lady Hikari, it's been a long time."

Lily bowed. The kid has grown up to be a great maid my daughter kyouko would be proud of.

"Call me Nagiri-sama like you always do. Is my idiot sister-in-law Chiemi still pretending to be me?"

"... Unfortunately and about Yume-"

" you haven't told us the way to bring back Yume." The frail boy cold voice.

'kid,Your boyfriend is worried about you. You should wake up, Yume.'

"Be quiet, you fools! I'm hungry so let's have dinner!"

We left the basement and went to the dining room. As we walked through the halls, i once again witnessed the pictures of the family. Since it's been awhile, i thought myself again.

'What the hell are this evil and good portrait for???'

Why would you put your family as good and evil? If you really want to show what's evil then put that stupid Chiemi there. That incarnation of the devil himself. Because of her...
