"I am this close-" Kryl lifted her hand up, her thumb and first finger centimetres apart, "to not giving a fuck."

Triss sighed.

"I'm serious, Triss!" Kryl continued, her body moving as she spoke, anger rising up inside her.

"I know," Triss started, but cut herself off, thinking about her next words carefully, "I just think that, maybe, you should try and see it from her point of view."

Kryl scoffed, "so everyone's against me!" She rose to her feet quickly, done with the 'therapy' session. "Be on her side, fine by me."

She made to walk away, to storm out of the room, but her body apparently had other ideas.

Kryl was transported somewhere else, her eyes flashing with a vision of the ocean suddenly. A distant scream rang in her ears. Kryl stumbled, her balance thrown. She felt Triss' hands on her shoulders, holding her upright.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Kryl shrugged Triss off her. Her eyebrows furrowed, eyes trained on the floor as she tried to make sense of what the hell just happened.

"You had a vision, didn't you?" Triss pushed again.

"No." Yes. Kryl knew she only got those when Ciri used her powers. She felt Triss' disbelieving stare on the back of her head and changed her answer quietly.

"What did you see?" Triss walked around Kryl, holding her shoulders gently.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out." Kryl replied, her confusion only growing the longer she didn't get a second vision.

"AKRYLLI!"

Kryl fell to the floor, her knees hitting hard stone with a crack. Her hands covering her ears instantly as her eyes closed tightly shut.

The sound hurt. A lot. It felt like it was crippling through her very bones, a sharp blade running down along her spine, cutting her open agonisingly slow.

She was bent double now, her elbows on the cold floor as well.

At first, everything was black, and then she got small flashes. Kryl was in the water, looking up from the ocean floor. The light from the sun above was shining through the rippling tide.
