The american mission

John Smith, 24 years old, has been a general in the american army for only a month and is suspected to know a lot about america's attack plans.

- Chadovitch, as one of our best agents, we have chosen you to extract information from the        new  American general, John Smith. The boat leaves tomorrow morning, prepare your luggage, orders my superior.

I accept the mission reluctantly, I hate Americans. They think themselves above all when they don't have half of our strength. But what can I refuse the Russian government? Absolutely nothing.

In times of war, travel by boat is much less pleasant. Not that they were before, I've always been scared of the ocean. Which, by the way, is quite humiliating for such a reputable Russian agent. To clear my mind, I re-read my target's file. For this mission, I won't need to hide. My strategy is the following: Earn the trust of General John Smith, in order to then be able to extract information from him and transmit it to my country. All without being unmasked, of course.

As I re-read his profile in more attention, my eyes can't help but drift to the photo of John in the top left corner. He has deep eyes, delicate features, and curly hair that falls in front of his face. He seems so innocent that one could easily mistake him for a young man of good family who knows nothing of the atrocities of war. If I was a sensitive man, I would feel bad using him.

The trip came to an end faster than expected. Between making superhuman efforts to take my eyes off this photo and pretending to be completely comfortable with being on a pile of wooden planks swaying on the waves that could capsize at any moment, I didn't see the time pass and I was finally in America.

I won't waste time and I concentrate on my mission, so I may be able to get it over with quickly and get away from these stinky and stupid people. General John Smith lives in New York, so that's where I'll be staying for the next few months, or weeks if I don't waste my time. I read in his file that my target really likes high class parties and spends almost all his evenings there. So that will be my first destination.
