Valentine's Day: Special Chapter

*Flashback to last year Valentine's Day

"Hey, guys! Wanna go grab dinner? It's Valentine's Day!"

"Oh, c'mon Jisung! You already know we hate Valentine's Day!" Changbin grunts in annoyance.

"Why? 'Cause you don't have anybody to go on a date with and stuck with six other lonely broke dudes?" Jisung replied with a sassy tone and look up from his phone.

"Ok stop, stop, stop! I have already picked a place for us to eat, there will be no more fight on the way there, especially you two. Yes, we are a group of lonely broke dudes, and no, you're the only one who hates Valentine's Day. Today is no different than any other day so don't act like it's April Fool and gets mad at it. Directions had given, any other questions? Are we all clear?" Chan decided to stands up between an amused Jisung and an about-to-rip-amused-Jisung's head-off-Changbin. He uses his teacher's voice to get things settled between them because the last thing he wants is for them to talk continuously throughout the day.

*This is exactly how my teacher talk💀

"Question! Where are we going to eat?" Seungmin raises his hand, acting like he was actually in a class and Chan is the teacher.

"We're going to McDonald's 'cause I'm broke so no one better be complaining. But good news I just get my check and the store owner has a crush on me so she gave me an extra $100 for Valentine's Day, and so, in conclusion, I'll take you guys to a coffee house afterward." Chan slowly explains and grins throughout his entire speech.

"Sounds nice to me, as long as I don't have to pay, I'm in," Jeongin replied, eyes still attached to his phone's screen. "I just texted Felix and Lee Know, they are on their way here, the professor just canceled." He continues.

"Good deal! Can you ask Lee Know to drive today? My car had run out of gas. Go change guys, dress well it's kinda cold tonight."

"He said okay."

"Got it. Thank you."

"Sorry, we're a little late," Chan said to Lee Know while he gets into the passenger's seat and fix his coat.

"No big deal. Where are we heading to?" Minho asks and turns the heater up.

"McDonald's and we will go to the coffee house near our dorm after that."

"Ok, you just got your check or what?" Minho asks casually.

"Yeah and just thought it might be good to go out to eat sometimes."

"Agree."

"Y'all, seat bell!" Chan looks into the back seats and reminds them.

"Yes, sir!" All of them said at once.

"Ok, let's go."

"What do you want to eat?" Chan looks at six other pairs of eyes behind him and asks.

"I want an EggMcMuffin but replace the muffin with the burgers' buns."

"I want a Chicken Sandwich without pickles and tomatoes."

"I want a Chicken Sandwich but with extra pickles and tomatoes."

"I want chicken nuggets with extra ketchup on the side, extra nuggets too, if they allow."

"I want a bucket of chicken."

"Okay, wow, hold on. First of all, EggMcMuffin is only served for breakfast, this is dinner time. Second, the two who both want Chicken Sandwich but with different toppings, I will order a normal Chicken Sandwich, whoever doesn't like the pickles and tomatoes, give it to the one who does and you will have extra pickles and tomatoes. Third, no they don't give extra nuggets unless you pay more but I'll take extra ketchup for you. Finally, we are at McDonald's, not KFC, there's no chicken in a bucket, we will go there next time but you gotta pick a different meal. Are we good?" Chan continues to teach and lets out a sigh after he had finished explaining everything to them. Sometimes he feels like he doesn't get paid enough to do this, that is if he ever gets paid.

After they finished the meals, Chan keep his promise and took them to a coffee house.

"Okay, since I know you guys will have like a big old long recipe of your favorite drink but how about we all get hot chocolate today?"

All of them nod and give him an approval look.

After about ten minutes of waiting their names were called and they choose to sit at a big table near the window.

A soft R&B playlist was playing in the store and with the warm drink in their hand, they stay silent for the first time of the day. The calm atmosphere of the coffee shop settle onto them and soon they were deep in thoughts.

"Do any of you have a boyfriend or girlfriend?" Jeongin decides to break the silence after a long period of time with his soft voice.

"No, why?" Minho looks up after staring down at his hot chocolate, the marshmallow reminds him of his cats.

"If you do then, what are things that you want to do with them in the future or things that you're going to do for them?"

"I would give them hugs every day and say that I love them," Jeongin asked the question and give out his own answer.

"So we're going to deep conversations right now? Ok, fine. I want to protect them and keep them safe. I want whoever my lover is in the future to stay happy and healthy. I really do." Changbin said, sounds way less aggressive than usual and on the softer side.

"I will bake brownies for them, and give my positive energy to them when they're feeling down," Felix said after taking a big sip of hot chocolate.

"I want to make them happy too," Seungmin replied, short and simple.

"I have the same answer as Changbin and Seungmin. I'd like them to feel comfortable and happy with me next to their side." Jisung replied, lowering his voice a little bit.

"I want to open a cats' cafe with them, I'll cook their favorite dish too."

"I want to open a coffee house, share my love of coffee and music with them, and just peacefully run our business." Chan finished with his confession and once again they fell back into the comfortable silence.

After finishing their chocolate, the seven of them clean up and left the shop. On the way, it was pure silence only the sound of cars rolling on the street are heard inside their car.

What are they thinking about? What's their definition of love?

What are the definitions of love from a boy who gets rejected by his parents, from a boy who is way more mature than the friends of his age, from a boy who has a bunch of secrets in mind but never shares one, from a boy who is in pain but will also put up a wall between him and the rest of the world, from a boy with a simple thought process, from a boy who cares about every other person except of himself, from a boy who's always cheerful but does he?

YESSS!!!!! I did it! Happy Valentine's Day y'all. I wrote this whole thing in two hours today 'cause I don't have time yesterday or any other day, but I did it. At first, I want this chapter to kind of review and focus on only one of the characters' background situations but it came out as a really general one so this is just like a filler chapter but I think it would give you some ideas about what each characters' point of view is like.
