AMAYA MADRIGAL'S POV
"Oh no I am so late. Why didn't you wake me up so early?" I yelled through the phone to the other person in the other line. I asked Sara my bestie to wake me up for the today's presentation.
"Oh baby girl I am so sorry I forgot to put the alarm yesterday. But hey you got 130 minutes to be there so go" Sarah replied.
"Okay fine. I will deal with you later I guess. Good times there douchebag"
"Wow what a grateful friend you are"
"Whatever" I rolled my eyes.
Cutting off the phone I went to get myself ready for the day. Yesterday I slept so late around 2 pm. I was preparing a presentation to present to our new client. I work in an advertising company in New York. We have an important client today who will offer us a great amount of money. We only have to prepare an ad for his new resort opening in his private island.
Through my presentation I will get a promotion. And that is the key to everything. Good salary, new apartment, paying tuition fee for my master's degree and finally contribute to the orphanage at least more than what I contribute normally.
I have been a one man army ever since I turned 18. The orphanage set me free to find my life. But that doesn't mean i will forget what they did to me.
They loved, cared and gave me all the basic needs I needed. So the little I would get I gladly shared with them each month.
Ask me about my real parents and I have no idea where they are. I was found in a basket outside the orphanage center gate at 6 months of age. The nuns took care of me, they are my parents and I love them. Especially nun Mary. She is my godmother and my best friend she taught me a lot of things form when I was a child up to now that I am lady.
I finished my breakfast and took a bus to work. I smiled feeling happy that I would make in time before the meeting.
Stepping out of the bus station I hurriedly put my hands into my bag looking for my phone so as to check on the time. It had rained yesterday almost all night so the street road hadn't dried up well there were still little pools of water here and there.
As I kept looking for my phone, a car stopped by splashing water on me. What the actual fuck? The water was all over my dress. I am going to kill that driver, I swear.
I stopped rummaging through my bag and went towards the car which had abruptly stopped due to the red sign from the traffic lights. I knocked to the driver's window. The tinted windows rolled down and I shouted at him.
"You, you splashed water on me. How dare you? Who do think you are splashing water on people?" I shouted at him pointing my fore finger on him accusingly.
He kept quiet not even gazing to my side.
"Heyyyy, I am talking to you are you deaf" I kept on ranting.
"Heyyyyyy" I yelled gain making him annoyed. Until the back door opened and there stepped a sexiest man alive. Oh my God. Who is this man?
"What's wrong with you can't you see we are in the traffic?" he blatted out clenching his jawline. I stared at him, I was so mad at his reaction but yet astonished on his looks. He was so handsome to be honest and I fought the urge to smack his face
"Whoa! So you are the boss huh. Look what your driver did to me. You rich people are so mean and arrogant and douchebags. You can't just splash water on people. That is so not good morals. And your damn driver couldn't even say sorry"
"How much do want for your dress?"
"What? Excuse me I don't need your damn money"
The man took out his wallet form his back pockets of his suit black Armani pants and took out a band of 100 dollars. That was a lot of money.
"Is this enough?" he said handing me the cash. I looked at him dumbfounded. So he is trying to bribe me?
"This is so disrespecting. I will not accept your money. Not everything is solved by money sir. And let me tell you something." I came closer to him and his strong cologne hit my nose. He smelled so nice damn it. I controlled myself as I whispered to his ear. "Fuck you and your damn money. Assholes" I yelled at him and ran away.
Reaching the office I was in a mess. My dress wet and smelly. Yak. I got stares from fellow employees but ignored them. I went straight to the elevator and then to my department.
"Oh my actual god what the hell happened to you?" Sara my Co-worker said to me amused.
"I had a really bad morning. Could this be a curse?" I wondered. She busted into a fit of laughter.
"Let's get you changed. Save the story for later. For starters, the boss is frustrated in there. The client is waiting for you 5 minutes now. Come on hurry" she pulled me with her. I was so scared this was supposed to be my day to make the boss proud yet I am to ruin everything. Well done Amaya.
After changing to a new pair of dress by the help of Sarah I thanked her and we hurried to the conference room. Before we entered Sara stopped me. I frowned as to why we stopped but she whispered something in my ears.
"Don't freak out, Mr. Newman is one hell of a Greek God. Oh my Oh my I don't think I can concentrate today. Aweeeee he is so cute" she almost lost her self, saying that statement. I looked at her as if she had grown horns.
I chose to ignore her since we were getting more lately, I opened up the door leading to the conference room. My eyes landed on the last person I wanted to see that day, why him? What was he doing there for the love of God? I kept staring at him completely lost, and he also looked at me and smirked. Holy shit, this is bad. OMG don't tell me he is the Mr. Newman? What? I hoped not but he was the only unfamiliar person in the room despite our marketing team.
