Chapter 1

Will they miss me if I leave? It was about the 100th time I had asked my self this question today. I thought they might, but what do I know. I don't know anything anymore. But this was something I had to do. And I need to do it alone.

So lets start from the beginning. My name is Chloe Brooks and yesterday was my 13th birthday. I suppose you are wondering what I'm planning to do, and I don't blame you. It's stupid really as it involves leaving my whole life behind. Everything except some spare clothes, food, my diary and Georgia my teddy bear.

OK, I'm planning to escape from home. I know what your thinking. Why? Well I'll tell you. My mum and dad have been arguing for the last month and yesterday was the final straw. They knew it was my birthday and all, and I had told them thousands of times that this was my special day so could they at least not argue on it. It was OK at first, they seemed chilled out and relaxed, but as the day went by the atmosphere started to heat up. Well firstly it was just glares, which I tried to ignore, but then the usual started. The arguing and b******g to each other. I told them to stop, but they just told me keep out of it. So I did the usual. I ran up to my room and cried.

I do this most nights, as my parents stay up late bickering. I try to block it out with music, but it's no use, their noise always travels upstairs in to my attic room.

Today was no exception. But as I was crying and telling all my thoughts and feeling to Georgia, that's when I had the idea. It was pretty good, but I couldn't think of a good enough reason to do it.

Just as I was thinking about my great escape, I heard my mum coming up the stairs. Great I thought. Just great. Shes going to barge in and say how sorry she and dad were and how it wasn't going to happen again. So yeah the usual babble.

But when my mum softly knocked on the door, I wasn't expecting my dad to be with her. As they came in they both were looking down at the floor and looked unusually guilty. I assumed that they were both here in my room to apologise, just cause it was my birthday.

But nothing could prepare me for what they told me. I was sooo shocked I could have fainted. This was the last straw.
