"Just checking on you! You're taking so long, I'm trying to do your makeup before the party starts. Just hurry up, and be sure to flush the toilet after you're done," Noemi giggled.

When she heard her footsteps retreating, Aemilia shoved Lorenzo away from her with a harsh push, discontent showing on her face.

"Never do that again," she hissed, her heart still racing. She quickly picked up the dress to check for any flaws from their little encounter, relieved to find it unscathed.

With her pulse pounding in her ears, she undressed without a second thought, determined to get changed and away from him. Ignoring him completely, she hurriedly slipped into the dress. She glanced back at him and saw a smirk on his face, showcasing his dimple, which only annoyed her further. Shaking her head, she slipped out of the bathroom and back into the hallway.

Shouldn't he have his own bathroom? It made no sense that he was in there with her. Why hadn't he locked the door? This was all his fault.

Yes, his fault!

When she made her way back into Noemi's room, Noemi was perched on her bed, waiting. Aemilia offered a small apology, but Noemi quickly waved it off, insisting she sit so she could start on her makeup.

Around forty-five minutes later, Aemilia was fully dressed. Noemi had styled the white dress with some orange shark boots and a matching orange Goyard purse. It wasn't something Aemilia would have chosen for herself, but she had to admit she looked good. So did Noemi.

Noemi wore a pink crop top paired with a mini skirt that Aemilia might have mistaken for underwear if Noemi hadn't told her what it was. Her shoes were square-toed pink heels that were some kind of designer, though Aemilia had forgotten the name.

The whole time Noemi worked on their looks, Aemilia's mind drifted back to Lorenzo. She had promised herself it wouldn't happen again, but here she was, caught in memories of that moment. And it's not like she was inexperienced. She'd had sex on multiple occasions and wasn't a stranger to one-night stands.

The first time she ever had sex was with someone Rere had set up for her. They had talked for a couple of months before they finally crossed that line. It wasn't the best experience ever, but it also wasn't the worst. After he took her virginity, he disappeared, and Aemilia never heard from him again. She never bothered to ask Rere about him because, honestly, she didn't care.

Looking back on it now, though, it almost felt like Rere had wanted her heart to be broken, but maybe she was just overthinking, as always.

When Noemi was satisfied with their looks, they headed down the stairs. Aemilia realized why they were dressed like they were. The girls she saw barely had on any clothes with heels, so in a way, Noemi and she looked overdressed.

Aemilia quickly grabbed Noemi's hand, feeling overwhelmed as she tried to stick to her side. But God had other plans. With all the bodies around, that was nearly impossible. She didn't agree to this, and it was really starting to show. She wasn't used to parties like these—or parties at all.

They were so inconsiderate of her feelings... both of those siblings.

When did all these people arrive? She didn't hear them—oh yeah, they probably arrived while she was getting fingered by her "friend's" brother.

Lost in thought, somebody bumped into her, causing her to let go of Noemi's hand. She turned around quickly to apologize, but when she turned back, Noemi was gone.

Her heart started to beat faster as people partied all around her, passing shots straight from bottles of all kinds of liquor and grinding their bodies against each other.

No... Please no... She could barely see anything, and when tears welled up in her eyes, it made her vision worse.

Just then, a hand grabbed onto hers and pulled her from the chaos.

Panicking, she couldn't do anything but be led along.

Her breathing became heavy, and she started to sweat.

She couldn't let out a single word of protest, her throat felt like it was caving in.

She hated when people touched her.

She could tell she was close to fainting.

When they were away from everything, the person who had dragged her along stepped closer, and now she got a better look at their face.

She could tell why he was so confident in leading a random girl away, thinking he would score.

He wasn't an ugly guy, but she just wasn't attracted to him in the least. His golden eyes matched perfectly with all of his features, and a small mole set above his full lips tied everything together.

"C'mon, it's a party! Why do you look so pale? Random hookups happen all the time," he said, his tone dripping with mockery, as if that would somehow ease her anxiety.

Aemilia tried to step back, to put some distance between them, but he was quicker. In an instant, he grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall. The impact knocked the breath out of her, and she crumpled to the floor, unable to summon the strength to stand. Panic clawed at her insides as she fought to remain alert. If she fainted, he would have his way with her, and she couldn't let that happen.

"You bitch! How dare you try to reject me? I LOVE YOU!" His voice was a twisted mix of rage and desperation. He moved closer, licking the sweat off her chin, and her stomach churned in disgust. "I could tell you things about Aloere that would make your little heart stop, but I could also do things worse than what she really had planned for you. The only truly oblivious one here is you..." He paused, his eyes narrowing as he leaned back to take a good look at her face. "Wait... do you not know who I am?"

She should know him?

"W-Well, I c-can't s-see as well..." she stammered, desperate to explain, but he was having none of it. With a vicious yank, he pulled her hair back, forcing her to look up at him.

"All these years we passed by each other in the hall—" But he didn't finish his sentence. Suddenly, Aemilia felt a surge of movement as he was yanked off her so abruptly that she was momentarily confused.

Before she could process what was happening, she was hit with a smell so overwhelming that it clouded her senses. She felt her consciousness slipping away, and she let the darkness take her.
