"Don't" Sara said unconsciously.
Kokomi turned to her with a shocked expression which then turned into a smirk.
"What do you mean?"
Sara looked away from Kokomi's eyes and looked down onto the messy, toy filled , floor."I mean that I like you with your hair down..., I mean you do look pretty like that"
"OH so I wasnt pretty before?" Kokomi spat back jokingly and sniggered.
Before Sara could respond the pink haired girl pushed her off her and looked around. "I'm joking I'm joking". She turned to look at Sara who didn't seem very impressed.
"...."
Silence filled the room as the two girls just looked at each other blankly , waiting for the other to speak. But the silence last to long as a child began crying.
Miss Pegg walked towards the child and picked them up and cradled them in her arms. She looked at the child with love , affection and kindness. She then calmed it down and listened to why the child was crying , then told it not to leave toys on the floor because it's dangerous to them others.
Kokomi let a quiet 'awee' out her mouth while Sara looked in confusion. She wondered why Miss Pegg wasn't angry at the child , the child did slip and fall because it left it's toy on the floor, so why not tell them off.
"Don't you think that's a bit harsh, it was just an accident?"
Sara was thinking outloud, again.
"Is it though?, when I was younger my mother always told me off when I did stupid things like that , it's important to be able to get back on your feet your self instead of just sitting their crying over spilt milk , like a baby" she said with her eyes narrowed.
"Uh, Sara this is a child your talking about , basically a baby"
"Well I'm not sure about you but I definitely know how to deal with my problems myself and not to cry over every little thing and just wait for someone to save me, I mean if you think that children shouldn't be taught that you do you, I guess"
Kokomi was ready to comeback with a reply to her statement when Miss Pegg walked over.
"Girls you did promise me a clean room? Can you get to cleaning now?"
Whoops
The 2 didn't realise how their own playfulness and short attention span really delayed their set task.
Clean clean clean.....
An hour later...
Miss Pegg walked back into the previously messy room and since the girls had cleaned up it was like it had transformed.
"Wow girls!" She exclaimed " This is very good! , I'm sure to tell your headmistress about this!"
Kokomi looked to Sara with a slight grin on her face while Sara looked back at Miss Pegg with exhausted eyes.
"You girls get back to your time table now, bye bye!"
"Byeeee!" "Bye."
"I'm so tired." Sara moaned as her and her companion strode down the corridor. Sara could feel her arms becoming weak after all the sweeping and picking up of toys. She turned to Kokomi who seemed to be better than Sara also a bit tired.
"Hm, atleast we have a free period now!" Kokomi yawned, arms out stretched. "Oh really, so do we stay in class or"
"Oh, we go to our big library in which is mainly used to studying but also keeps some of the best books I've ever read!" Her eyes shone with excitement as she thought about all the amazing stories she had read with her friend Gorou.
But Sara wasn't thinking about that anymore, she was thinking about her childhood and how her mother always shouted at her for doing childish things. Whenever she would dare ask about it now the response she would get would be " it's important a child learns how to behave and act in the outside world, not crying over silly things and making them being aware of their own faults, I did it for you own good Sara, without my help you wouldn't be as mature as you are now." But now it feels like she was cheated out of a fun and playful childhood , she didn't need to be shouted at she just needed to be told calmly and be treated like a child not an adult. Kokomi said that shouting at a child for doing childish things doesn't 'fix' them but only hurts them and makes them scared.
She could feel tears swell up in her eyes and her face grow hot. How could she let one short convo make her so emotional? Why was she letting this girl she hardly known make her cry? Is she even right? My mother is an adult so she must know what she's taking about.. right?
She couldn't hold it in anymore as a rush of tears came streaming down her face and she began gasping for air.
"O-oh my gosh, Sara are you okay???"
