The sun wakes Georgia up. It burns her eyes with the force of an oven. She blinks, closing her eyes again to get rid of the sun. There is a soft knock at the door, Georgia pretends she doesn't hear it and hides underneath the blanket.
'Georgia, get up! It's time to go to school! ' Georgia's mum calls her in a soft and calm voice. Georgia keeps her eyes closed while her mum walks into her room and tickles her to make her laugh.
Georgia's mum opens the curtain and ignores Georgia glancing at her. ' It's a perfect day to start school ' she announces, not sounding like she really means it. ' Maybe the weather is nice, but the people won't be'. Georgia grumbles.
Suddenly, Georgia remembers the time in the sandpit when some children threw sand in her eyes. She squinted as the sun went into her eyes. The kids laughed at her as she tripped over the sand. Then, she went to her mother and grabbed her.
Her mum listens to Georgia and gives her a hug to get rid of the loneliness.
Georgia looks up at her mum and sees that her face is different, like there was a bad taste in her mouth.
Georgia's mum puts her school uniform on as Georgia puts her arms in the air. She notices that the uniform is way too big which is hard for her to play. She looks like a big girl, but she is not.
Georgia's mum ties her hair up with a ribbon, and Georgia lets her, because she knows it is easier sometimes to go with the flow and do what your mum tells you. Even if you don't like it.
