Miss Velvet

It's been a few weeks since yn met the Avengers and life has settled into sort of a routine. Evaluations are going well and she has started lessons for a couple who need them.

Of course that doesn't last. The flash of lightening and crack of thunder wake her up at 3am, glad that she checked the weather and made sure the horses were all tucked in and prepared for the rain. Of course she knew before she checked because rain and cold make the pain worse. The rain that started pouring down shortly after the lightening woke her up. After falling back to sleep for a bit, Yn sees that it's almost 5 and gets out of bed and goes to the kitchen to make some cocoa. While she waits for the milk to boil, Indy comes busting thru his doggy door wet and muddy. Yn grabs a towel to clean him off, grumbling about dogs that like the water, so messy.

After finishing her cocoa, yn heads to the bathroom and takes a long, hot shower. Throwing on some leggings and an oversized Def Leppard shirt, they were her mom's favorite band, she started breakfast for herself and Wanda who showed up right before the pancakes were done. Wanda bids her good morning and smiles at the stack of pancakes. They sit down to eat and discuss plans for the day. Obviously no one was riding but the regular chores need to be done.

Wanda insisted on doing the dishes and when they were done her eyes perked up 'you know, since we can't have any riding, you could come over to the compound and watch movies with the team. Everyone is there and we could just hang out.'

Yn hums 'yeah, sure, we could do that I haven't seen most of the team in awhile. As long as we get back by 5 to feed.' Yn pulls on her barn boots and a slicker and they head outside to feed and muck out stalls.

Chatting while they work, yn asks, 'is Barnes there?'

Wanda grins 'as far as I know. Why?'

Yn blushes 'what? He's hot and nice to look at, even if he's kind of a dick.'

'As far as I know he's there but he has a girl with him most of the time. Like a new one every week. I swear he'd have all the std's if he weren't a super soldier' Wanda muses.

Yn scoffs, 'ok now that's gross' 'Hey, I can bring Indy, right? He doesn't like being alone, especially with a storm.' Yn asks.

'I'm sure Tony won't mind, he's house broken and gets along with everyone.' They check to make sure everything is battened down, yn brings a bag with some meds and her cane in case she needs them, then they climb into Wanda's car to head over to the compound.

It's after 8am when they make their way to the common room where they find Steve and Sam back from their morning run. Yn gives them both hugs and they start chatting about whatever.

Giggling rings down the hall as Bucky and Janell come out of his room. Bucky greets everyone while Janell gives Velvet a dirty look, changing to a fake smile when yn greets her. Janell starts whispering in Bucky's ear while staring at yn and smirking. He shakes his head until she keeps going, his face flushes and he nods, mumbling 'in a little bit' Janell nods, looking smug. Indy makes sure to greet and sniff everyone as they come in, growling at Janell which is really unlike him. Yn calls him to her and he trots over and lays down by her feet.

Tony comes in, looking surprised to see yn. He winks at her, 'bet you wish Morgan's equestrian center was finished now, you could be working in climate controlled comfort without worrying about pesky weather'

Velvet grins 'when is that supposed to be done? 1 more week right? I hope it's ready before I have to go pick up Morgan's pony.'

'Hey, I brought National Velvet if y'all wanna watch it. It was one of my favorites growing up.' Everyone responds positively so they gather up snacks, drinks and blankets to get comfortable with the storm rages outside.
