Julie's POV

After school ended, I walked through the campus heading to the parking lot with Judy, a girl that I befriended a few weeks ago. Tommy had practice after school so I was debating between taking the bus or walking. It would be a long walk to get to my house though. As we were walking , I couldn't help but notice some people stare in my direction and whisper to their friends.

"So are we still on for the movies this weekend?" the blonde girl asked.

I watched a blonde cheerleader whisper to her short brunette haired friend, "Isn't it strange that the new girl arrived here a few weeks before the murders."

"-Julie." Judy said which brought my attention back to her.

"I'm sorry what?" I asked not remembering what we were talking about.

"The movie theater. Are we still on for this weekend?" She asks. I nodded my head trying to get out of my hazy state.

"Yea-yeah sure." I said reassuring her, and she smiles.

"Great, I'll see what's showing this weekend. See you tomorrow, Julie." She says before waving goodbye and walking the opposite way of the parking lot.

Before I start walking further, I see the same police officer from earlier in principle Himbry's office. When he sees me he smiles and walks away from his car and towards me. I can't help but smirk at how he reacts around me. As he nearly reaches me, a blonde girl walks in front of us with her arms crossed in annoyance.

"Dewey, what are you still doing here? Your shift ended two hours ago." She said causing him to blush, and me to silently laugh. He looks over at me, eye wide and embarrassed, before looking back at the girl before answering.

"Y-yeah well Sheriff asked me to stay longer." He said with a tone of warning in his voice, but I found it to be funny.

When the girl turns around I see that it's the girl that was at the fountain.

"Oh, hey you're the new girl, right?" She asks. I bit my lip in slight annoyance at the label, but nod my head. Officer Dewey steps in to add to the introduction.

"This is Julie, Julie Davis." He says. And the girl looks back at him in annoyance.

"She could have told me herself, Doofus." She says before looking back at me.

"Nice to meet you, new girl. I'm Tatum Riley." She says with a smirk, and I look between the two.

"So you two are brother and sister?" I ask, and Tatum mutter, 'Unfortunately' while Dewey just nods his head. Tatum looks at her brother, and narrows her eyes at him.

"Okay you can go now Deputy Dewey boy." She motions for him to shoo with her hand, and Dewey backs up.

"It's Dwight." He defends before looking towards me, "I'll see you around, Julie. Stay safe." He continues before he heads back to his car. Tatum rolls her eyes before grabbing my arm and walking into another direction away from where I was heading. Man, this girl is straightforward.

"So, Julie, where are you from?" She asks.

"Stonington, Connecticut." I say. She looks back at me, surprised.

"That's like really far from here. Why did you move?" She continues.

"My dad got a promotion at work and they transferred him here." I say.

"I would ask how you're liking Woodsboro so far, but that would be kinda stupid considering..." She gestures at all the police and news reporters around us.

I nod my head in understanding.

"So where were you heading?" She asks.

"Home." I answer.
