Midnight breeze

With the pandemic hitting the world, 2 years seem to pass just like that. 2 years after she said goodbye to The King production. These 2 years she has been participating in numerous projects. It may have seemed like she is working non-stop. This makes it easier for her to be a single lady. Sure, her family and friends were close to her. With so many things going on in her life, she seldom feels lonely. But tonight, she finds herself staring into the cold night from her balcony. The midnight breeze brushed her face but she did not feel the cold. But she felt an emptiness in her soul. Nights like this, she misses her Haelmi (grandmother) and her wisdom thinking. Her Haelmi would know just the right advice for her although she had never burdened her Haelmi with her problems. Her Haelmi would know by just simply looking at her face and the way of her sigh.

Her phone dinged. 

She pushed away the tears that were clouding her view to see who had been texting her.

Sunbae?

Sunbae: "Hey, are you still awake?"

She stares at those text for a bit too long. She could not believe her eyes. Then, her phone dinged again.

Sunbae: "I guess you are asleep. Nothing important. Goodnite Go-Eun an."

Her heartbeat starts to get erratic. She snaps out of her trance.

Ggone: 'Oh, hi sunbae! Im not asleep yet. I was just in the kitchen. What are you doing up at this hour? <insert smiley emoticon>'

She does not know why she has to lie. Am I too cheerful? Or should I answer them later in the morning? "arghhh". Her phone dinged again. But this time it's a voicenote.

Sunbae: 'I can't sleep. So, I went for a walk by the river. And I thought I saw someone like you standing so stoically on the balcony. Hahaha it must be my old eyes deceiving me'

Her eyes got big. Immediately she hunched her body. Her hand covers her open jawed mouth.

"omo!, did he saw me? Where is he? Oh God!"

Another voice note from him.

Sunbae: ' I think I must be mistaken. I can't see her anymore. By the way, I just wanted to ask if you would like to join me for a walk?'

She wanted to smack her head for her earlier text. Perhaps he really did saw her. "Gon, you really are dump, arghhhh". Cold sweat starts forming on her forehead. Why is it so hot now?. She clears her throat, but she is afraid that her voive will betray her, so she just texted him back.

Ggone: 'are you with your friend, sunbae? I do not want to intrude.'

'There.' She wiped away her cold sweats, as if just ran up the stairs.

Sunbae: 'aniya. It's just me. But its OK. Anyway. Goodnight'

She panicked.

Why?

What should I do?

Why is my heart doing this to me now?

She took a deep breath
