The next day was hard for Alex. It was a Wednesday and he had to go to school looking like trash. His school life was decent, although he wasn't very popular. He had only 3 real friends there. His best friend's name was Joseph. He had a girlfriend there named Tawny, and another person that he could trust to be who she was was his guidance counselor. He never went there because of problems at school, but because he was lonely. School that day was a normal day, no one caring, just blending in. After school he didn't get picked up, but he biked back home. When he got back the police came to his door again. He was wondering what it could be when they said: "Alex. We were wondering if you knew the license plate R1D3R." Alex responded with a quick "Yeah. It was the license plate on my Uncle's car. Why?" The police responded saying "It's being taken to the crusher, was thinking you might want to stop the tow truck." Alex didn't know much, but he knew that that wasn't supposed to happen. He barreled through the officers and got straight back on his bike. Alex was a good biker. He was outgrowing his bike though, because he got it when he was 12 and he grown a foot since then. So he biked and was lucky enough to find the tow truck at a stop light that was about to turn green. Alex pedaled as hard as he could to catch up to it, but it was going just barely faster than him. The traffic was especially heavy, but Alex could avoid that. He was weaving through the cars faster than he thought he could, but determination kept him going. By now, the tow truck has spotted him and is speeding to the junkyard. The tow truck makes it into the junkyard and tells the tollsman to close the doors to the place, which were made like garage doors. The doors were closing slowly, but Alex was close. He was about 15 meters away, and he knew he could make it. The door is now 4 feet from touching the ground. Alex is 3 feet away from it. Just when the door is at 2 feet, Alex slides underneath it on his bike and makes it into the junkyard. The door closes behind him.
