IN THE WINDSWEPT MORNING at the Guilford Mansion's garden, the quadruplets focused on their own activities.

"Ah, Minx! Lovely to see you," Elainesse greeted her avian companion with a bright smile as it landed on her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Lewis sat on a garden bench, he was absorbed by a certain book to assist his sister, Eunice.

"It says here... the weather can be changed by one's moods or a sprinkle of magic," Lewis shared, stealing a glance at Eunice.

"Let me give it a try" Eunice proposed, lifting her hands skywards.

Under the shade of a towering oak tree, Amethyst wrestled with gravity, while attempting to make some of her books levitate.

"Whoa! I wasn't- expecting it... AH! to be so heavy..," Amethyst said as she struggled to control the balance of her books.

Eunice's attempt at weather manipulation is far from success, as a result, Amethyst's books are now soaked.

"Hey, stop that! My books are getting drenched," Amethyst protested, a hint of irritation in her voice.

Apologies were exchanged as they went back in their house, their laughter blending with the rustle of leaves in the wind.

Later, in the cozy living room, the siblings found themselves wondering about the pendant necklaces left behind by their father.

"Why do you think Papa gave us these?" Elainesse expressed aloud, her fingers tracing the delicate details of the pendant.

"I suppose they might be for protection," Lewis uttered, his gaze drifting toward Eunice.

Their father's final words echoed in their minds, a touching reminder of the bond that they had together.

---

"A-alright Eunice...., you have- to take care of your younger siblings, and i- i trust you, always wear this..... necklace, it will keep you and your siblings safe" Father declared.

Those were his last words before he passed out.

"I promise, papa" Eunice expressed as she felt a tear fall from her eye.

"I will keep them safe....forever" Eunice continued as her voice began to break.

Maya, their devoted maid, rushed into the room, tending to her duties with an air of maternal affection.

"Come on Eunice, it's time to go" Maya said, Maya has been their maid for almost 8 years, she took care of all the plants, the kids and she made their house a home.

Meanwhile, Amethyst decided to search for a fresh fruit in their local market, a simple task that would soon lead to an unexpected encounter.

AMETHYST

After purchasing a basket of apples, I entered the empty train compartment, the clatter of the wheels somehow gave me a comforting feeling as I was drowned by my own thoughts.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of me, jolting me from my daydreaming.

"Ouch! Please, stop for a moment," he protested, shielding himself as I hit him with a book I had brought with me earlier. I don't even know why I brought a book, oh well, it does have it's benefits.

As I lowered my makeshift weapon, I studied the stranger in front of me: a tall, freckled figure with fiery red curls and a sheepish grin.

"Who might you be, and what funny business brought you here?" I demanded, my brow furrowed in suspicion.

"Let's try calming down first, shall we?" he suggested, motioning me to take a seat.

I hesitantly nod as I settled into my seat, eyeing him with cautious curiosity.

As he introduced himself as Casper Salisbury, he recounted his misadventures with a local shop owner, who chased him for stealing a few mangos.

"Why would you do that? That's a crime!" I inquired, struggling to comprehend his reckless actions.

"Well, it was a mistake on my part... I had forgotten to bring a coin," he confessed, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Intrigued by his revelation, I queried why he hadn't simply vanished into thin air.

"I'm incapable of teleporting... I relied on invisibility," he explained, a glimmer of pride in his voice.

As our conversation lengthens, I realized that we're back at the train stop. Salisbury bid me goodbye with a friendly wave.

"Farewell, Amethyst," he called out as I made my exit, his words lingering in the air.

"Farewell, Salisbury" I stated as I got off the compartment, not even bothering to look back at him.
