Her: Last night, he had his bags packed. Last night, he was planning to leave. Last night, I begged him to stay. I told him his life was here, and I started unzipping his luggage. I took out the folded clothes but he stopped me. He held me in his arms and I could feel the uncertainty radiating off him. He pulled back and we admired each other. His eyes held the twinkles of light in the night sky, and I was stargazing. "Please don't go." Though it was a whisper, it echoed through the silence. My forehead was soon met with a warm kiss and we were entangled in one another. But today there was an empty space. I had known all along that his uncertainty wasn't towards his choice of leaving me. He just didn't know how to let me down.Him: At 11, I had finish packing. At 11, I was ready to have a fresh start. But at 11, she came over. She reminded me that my entire universe was in this small town. But the only reason it is, is because she is my world. Her hands shook as she removed my folded shirts, one by one. I pulled her into my chest, and I let a tear slip. This was goodbye. I studied her face for I didn't want to forget anything about her. "Please don't go." Her voice rang in my ears. I couldn't promise her that I'd be by her side tomorrow. I kissed her on her forehead and I still felt the sparks. At 6, I was seated in the plane. The lady on the speakers told us to put our phones away. Before I did , I saw a message. "What puts me in pain is not knowing whether you changed your mind or never had the intent of staying." The hardest part was not staying silent or leaving her. It was right there and then when I put my phone on Airplane Mode.
