The sun was setting beneath the cliff of the hidden leaf village, casting a low, orange and pink glow across the area. Two guards were stationed at the entrance of the village, ensuring the safety of the villagers from outsiders. Everything was quiet as people settled in for the night.
"E-...Excuse me..." A woman's voice called softly.
The two guards looked up and spotted a figure making its way towards them. It was a frail woman wearing old and dirt ridden clothing. Her face was pale and sickly, and in her arms she held a tiny infant.
"State your business please." One guard ordered politely, trying not to be too harsh on the poor woman.
"M-My daughter..." She held the baby closer. "She... She's so sick. Please, please help!"
The guards shared a look of concern with each other and nodded.
"We can't leave our post," one stated. "But the hospital is just East of here. Straight down the path, you can't miss it. Tell them Hikari sent you and that it's urgent. They'll help you and your daughter."
The woman began crying tears of joy and thanked the two men profusely as she hurried on her way. That night, the baby girl was found in front of the hospital. The only sign seen of a parent was a retreating hooded figure.
A note was left resting on the thick blanket that held the little girl.'I love you my child'
