It was a cool night, cloudy. The stars were out of sight. The only illumination was dim light of the half moon peeking from behind the clouds. They were returning, or that's what he had been told. But to him, he was already home.

They sat in the back of the jeep, huddled together, the wind whipping his hair. He wasn't going to leave her, ever again. His eyes fell on her. She was leaning against his shoulder, silent. He sensed that she was asleep, judging by her stillness and rhythmic breathing against his neck. He removed the arm that he had looped around her and adjusted the jacket he had wrapped around her shoulder. Satisfied that she was comfortable, he looped his arm around her again, careful to not wake her. Watching her at peace provided him an odd sense of security.

He held his breath as she stirred a little. In an attempt to make her comfortable again, he cautiously placed a hand on her cheek, pulling her a little closer. Her hand reached out his, and her finger loosely attempts to intertwine with his. He did not resist. His smile was short lived, as his gaze dropped to her wrist. It still had that ugly purple-red bruise from the struggling against the binds. Was it hurting? His fingers stopped an inch away from it, unsure if he should touch it, heal it. He sighed, pulling his hand away, but her hold tightened. If he tried again, she might wake, he thought to himself.

He bit his lip, it would hurt her if she moved the hand too much. He decided to let it stay, and gripped it back. Thinking about it now, he had completely forgotten about the gunshot wound he had. She had been touching it for so long, and yet he felt no pain, rather it felt good. Was it the same for her? He looked at the sky with curious eyes, his fingers caressing and playing with her hair, the warmth that she radiated easing all the tension. Finally, he was more than just 'somebody' to her. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep.

A/N: So hiya. I know this is a very short one, but that's all the time I had to write.

I know I'm stoopid and should've given this info in the start, but I'm also very lazy. So this one's about the return trip to academy.

My exams are starting soon, 10 days later and I'm already half dead. I hope I make it out alive by 7th. :')
