When Taehyung leaves, Mari is left confused in her feelings.

Though he isn't rescuing her, she can see genuine remorse in his eyes. He brought her food and water and even let her out of her chains, trusting her not to run away.

She didn't run away; part of her didn't want him to suffer the consequences of her escaping.

When Jimin enters the basement looking tired after a long day, the anger inside her soul refuels seeing his face.

"Hello puppet," he says, smiling at her. "I'm sorry I had to bring in a friend to watch you, but it couldn't be avoided. Maybe if you behave, I can take you with me one day."

"Your friend was much better company than you," Mari snaps without thinking.

Jimin blinks a few times, taken aback.

"That's a mean thing to say," Jimin says, looking down at his hands in his lap. "I was the one who made you a famous dancer overnight. I was the one who saved you from being a nobody. I feed you and I clothe you and I put a roof over your head. How am I less than my friend who just babysat you for a few hours?"

"You abducted me," she yells, standing up. Her chains rattle as she straightens. "I was not a nobody. I had friends. I had a family. I had a career. I had my own roof over my head. I fed myself and bought myself clothes. I didn't need you. I never have and I never will!"

"That is enough," Jimin says, clenching his jaw as he slams her body back down into her bed with just a flick of his wrist.

She's realized that when he is angry like this, he uses his hand to control her again. It's almost as if his control on her slips just slightly to the point where he needs to use his hand movements and not just his mind.

She buries her head in her pillow, pretending to be upset.

But she's hiding her smile. Slowly but surely, she's unraveling him.
