Sirius ends the letter with his regular signature and folds it up neatly, sealing it with wax.

It had been ages since he'd seen his brother, but he still wrote to him every week, even though he hadn't gotten a response in months.

He headed to the window and handed the letter over to the owl he and Remus shared. Usually, his letters just contained updates on what he was doing in his life, wanting to keep his brother in the loop seeing as he had lost all social talents since Sirius left Hogwarts. But today, there was a specific topic.

Andrea and James' wedding. He had received a letter yesterday morning, and he wanted to check if Regulus would be coming or not.

As the owl disappeared on the horizon, Sirius couldn't help checking the time again. He should've been back home by now.

After the full moon on Tuesday, Remus had been sent to St. Mungo's, set to discharge today. Remus hadn't wanted Sirius to fuss, which was why he was still at home. But he was taking forever and Sirius wasn't a patient man.

Finally, he heard the jingle of keys out in the hallway and he leapt from the windowsill, meeting Remus just as he managed to close the front door, a very large box in his hands.

"Is that the gift you landed on?" Sirius chuckled, rounding the gift and kissing his boyfriend's cheek.

Remus smiles widely. "You bet."

Remus sat the gift down on the dinner table and greeted Sirius properly before he started making some tea.

Sirius crosses his arms with a playful smile. "And how much did this, "small and simple" wedding gift cost may I ask?"

Remus merely smiled. "Well, what is the point of money if you're not gonna spend it on the people you love?" Sirius tried to hold his laughter back. "Yes, but you don't have any money."

"Oh right." Remus leaned over the kitchen counter and kissed Sirius passionately. "Good thing I snagged myself one of the rich boys from school then, isn't it?"

Sirius gaped at him, appalled. "So that's why you picked me? Not my strikingly good looks?"

Remus grinned back. "Those were just a plus, baby. Think about it, the two richest boys in school ended up with two of their best friends because we shut out everyone else available to you."

Sirius tsked at that. "Andrea has more money than James. And let me be very clear on one thing." He held Remus' chin tightly as he looked deeply into his eyes. "You were never my best friend Moony. I always loved you more than that."
