To the relief of the masters, the emperor's son was announced to Shifu as fully recovered in a letter the next day, which meant that soon Superintendent Woo and Ming could finally leave the valley and give them some peace of mind. (And just in time for Ella's arrival as well since it meant less drama and bickering). However, the announcement also meant that Superintendent Woo wanted to go over the entire Jade Palace decor and presentation with a fine tooth comb, so Po and the girls, who had the liberty of moving about, decided to spend the next several days down in the valley of peace. They did some window shopping, hung out at Mr. Ping's for lunch, and even spent the morning walking around some of the local paths. (Thankfully not encountering any bandits, though Lu-Shi would have been more than happy to get the chance to knock somebody out). On one of their excursions, Po suddenly came up with the idea of doing a scavenger hunt. Each person would have a list of items they needed to find and they had to either collect it or buy it and bring it back to the group as proof in order to check it off of the list. Everyone thought it was a fun idea, and Destiny even threw in the fun idea of everyone writing their own scavenger list and then giving it to a random person.
"That would be fun," Madame Zhou said. "I love a challenge!"
"If we fold up the lists and mix them up in a pile, we could definitely do that," Jai-Rong agreed.
And so everyone agreed and began taking pieces of paper to write their own list. They took a few minutes to write down twenty items on their lists and then put it in a pile to randomly pick up. Some of the girls at this point had gotten familiar with each other's handwriting and personality and so were quick to identify who had picked up whose list.
"I think this one is Destiny's," Xiao-Niao noted, looking over the list. "One of the items says, Where ninjas first strike."
Destiny giggled erratically.
"I definitely have Madame Zhou's," Lam said as she noticed the very fine handwriting.
"I'm pretty sure I have Po's," Jai-Rong added. "There's a lot of awesome and epic and legendary mixed into this list."
"Oh that's mine actually!" Lu-Shi corrected with a laugh. "I have Po's."
"I have no idea whose list I have," Ordai admitted, looking slightly disappointed she didn't have Po's scavenger hunt sheet. "The first item is Where water runs dry but is never empty."
"That sounds like a Destiny thing," Lam admitted. "Except Xiao-Niao already said she has Destiny's list, so I have no idea who wrote that."
"Tai-Lin," Kay replied quietly. "It sounds like representation."
As everyone looked at the embarrassed rabbit who hadn't meant to talk more than she had planned, Tai Lin asked, "How'd you guess that?"
"The...answer is eyes," Kay said quietly. "You like to be vague. It translates. But...you can't take an eye...so it would be a representation....."
"It can't be eyes though," Ordai said. "We're supposed to find physical things-" She looked down at the list and then back at Tai Lin and frowned. "If you gave me nothing but objects I can't collect-" she warned.
"They're interpretive, like Kay said," Tai Lin countered. "Find whatever you want if you think it fits. It's not school, you know."
Po glanced down at his own list and immediately read A sign of peace.
"Is this your list Kay?" he asked the young rabbit.
Kay just turned red and nodded.
"Cool! This'll be interesting!"
