Story Fourteen: A Different World

It's hard to imagine it, but if I ask you to just try to imagine what I tell you, could you?

Now, for starters, I can't say that what I've experienced and what I know is a complete secret, because this place could've been discovered and explored by so many people already. But from what I've seen and heard on the other side, it doesn't seem like the 'people' there are used to foreign visitors... such as humans.

I don't need to see your face to know that what I said is a little confusing or unreal, because I've tried to explain my 'craziness' to others multiple times and they come back with the same response... "Go get some help, seriously."

But before jumping to a conclusion, just bare with me for a few moments, alright?

The reaction I receive after I tell someone about my adventures are always...displeasurable. Not because of what they say to me after, but because they haven't got the slightest bit of curiosity to actually follow me into a different realm to explore the endless mysterious unknowings.

Long story short, I've found a place. Along a hiking trail up in the mountains, behind my house, there is a shallow cave... and its like once you walk through the entrance of it, you're no longer facing a daunting darkness of something natural... but instead you are greeted with... a peculiar society with many oddities that strike curiosity and eagerness to know more about the unknown. All without fear.

I sense the lack of fear comes from that overwhelming feeling of shock and confusion, which is ever so quickly consumed by excitement and giddiness.

To think that there is a world that is just as civilised as us, lying hidden away in such an easily accessible spot, is nothing more than a wonder to so many people. However, that wonder is only experienced by the odd few who have a true imaginative mind and the hope for an escape. And as for everyone else... they're distancing themselves from an opportunity to feel the magic of a wonder.

Instead, they convince themselves that the people who come back to this world to tell their stories are the type of people who are nothing but drug addicted lunatics.

But at least I found a world that I can always turn to if I am ever in need of an escape. Because what I know is something special, and what the people in that world know... is something of lesser power.
