The year is...well in all honesty I can't tell when this all happened. I'd have to guess that this was 2056, it was the 2nd of May when this all started. I was 24 years old at the time and I was 6'2" at the time if I remember correctly.
I was walking to the local dealership, meant to grab my car from the repair shop. It was supposed to be easy to do, go and grab my car then leave. But, alas, it was not as easy as one would think. I went inside, I went to grab my car but before my hand touched the handle to get inside it, everything had gone black, last thing I felt was something enter my back before I blacked out. But...somehow I woke up. Alive and breathing. Something was wrong. I stood up and looked around, it was a green field with a beach behind me.
No, this shouldn't be where I should be, if I had lived I would've been in a hospital bed recovering, paralyzed. But before I could make sense of it I only now noticed why everything felt wrong. I wasn't on Copara ground anymore, gravity felt heavier than what it should've been and that was when I noticed the change in me. I saw myself with grey thin limbs, I had rushed over to the water on the beach and...my suspicions were correct. I was somewhere else, my entire body was gone and I was just a sphere with thin limbs and simplistic black eyes.
I didn't know what to make of this, could've I been granted another chance or- "Umbra, are you sure this is how you remember the story?" Pea asked me, interrupting me telling this story during his training "Yes, Pea I'm sure. Now you oughta ensure that rock doesn't fall on you," his expression changed and he changed focus on the rock. "Now, as I was saying," After I cleared my throat, I began to continue my story.
I didn't know what to make of this, could've I been granted another chance or did something happen to send me here? I heard a growl behind me, I turned around and it was a white...thing really, it's mechanical with a yellow LED light but half of it looks...natural. Like it's trying to not succumb to something. I wasn't so sure because soon enough it came to attack me. I froze there, staring, my life flashed before my eyes and I closed my eyes expecting something to hit me. Expecting to feel something before I finally pass on.
Everything felt like it froze still, I closed my eyes and...it was split in two, clean in half. I opened my eyes and saw the blood and guts but...something was off. There was no blood nor guts, just a horrendous stench, it smelt like something was cutting onions. I look past the cut...beast and I see a person, same circular shape with thin limbs, orange colored with a bit of white on his skin, possibly from what was just killed. He looks over, simple black eyes, holding a long sword and looking rather agitated.
"What were you doing there?! You just sat there and did nothing, do you have no respect for your new life?" The person asks me, in a rather...aggressive tone.
"I'm sorry I didn't know what was going on! I just got here!" I replied, a bit shook.
He sighs, putting away his sword "Whatever, you oughta get out of here, this is becoming a hot spot for Fallen Angels soon."
"I'll follow, just tell me your name at least."
"Teq, yours?"
"Umbra. Good to meet you," we shook hands and went off in a direction he led me through.
We had traveled through lots of places, a deep lake, a crevice between two colliding hills, and even under a heavily guarded bridge, as for what the bridge was guarded by; he never shared that with me. The last part was tense for some reason, he told me strictly to not utter a single sound. We had to sneak through a forest full of the most friendliest creatures in this god forsaken place.
At the end of the long trail I found us at a small town, 3 houses, and another place I can never pin down what it is. We walk in, Teq announcing our arrival, "Hey Ale! I'm back and we have ourself a new guest," I was a bit confused, the man at the counter didn't respond but before Teq could continue the man told him "Teq you know well that Ale isn't on shift around this time."
